Skipped a workout, feeling anxious

I need an opinion on rest days. I'm used to working out every day, whether it be in a gym or at home. However today I didn't do anything besides a two mile walk.
Should someone work out every day? Or is 5-6 days a week better?

"Better" is relative. Your body needs rest, so if it's giving you signs, then heed them. Otherwise, I know exactly what you mean about feeling anxious... when I don't work out, I think about it all day... sometimes I have to force myself to just let it go and take the break. Ultimately, my knees thank me for it. If you're feeling good working out every day, go for it. (IMHO, of course)0

I remember reading somewhere that you should take at least one day a week with no strength training, and only light cardio. Gives your body a chance to rest and repair. Otherwise, as much as you'd like. I have 5 days a week regular workouts, one day off, and one hardcore where I experiment with new stuff.0

Exactly, I know it might seem obsessive at times but I just like to normally stick to my every day routine haha0 -
It is important to let your body rest. But I am the exact same way as you. If I don't exercise every day I begin to panic. For my "rest days" I usually do lighter exercises instead of my normal routine. For example, I'm a big runner so instead of going on a run for one day I'll take a nice, long, leisurely walk. That's just a suggestion though. If your body can handle working out every day, I don't see why you can't.0
