Does everyone enter exercise?

Hello. I am new at this and have a question about exercise.... If I enter my exercise then my allowed calories for the day increase. If I then eat more but stay under the total for the day, will I still lose weight? Or am I shooting myself in the foot by eating the extra calories afforded me by exercising? Or am I better off not entering the exercise ( but still doing it) so that I will force myself to stay under my normally alloted calories? Any suggestions? I really want to do this right (this time!) and would be happy losing consistently one pound per week the right way. I appreciate any suggestions.
