In need of some motivational support.

I'm trying to lose 70 pounds and would like to have it off by August 2015, 50 weeks from today.
I have lost weight before but the older I get and the more I have on my plate with my husband, son, housework and a full time job I find it harder and harder to shed the pounds.
I guess I'm just looking for someone in the same shoes as I that can give me some tips and tricks.

  • Hi Amac,

Give yourself credit for taking some action first, and the fact that you have lost weight before means that you can do it again! I know that life can be busy, but you have to be able to to look at your life and say to yourself "what's going to work?" and keep plugging away at that question until you start to get some answers.

Everyone's journey is different. We all find different paths to the same destination, but what matters when it comes to weight loss is how everything fits into YOUR life.

    So here are some suggestions:

Go back and look at what you did when you lost weight before. Somethings may not work anymore, but some probably will. Try to reintegrate some of those tips and tricks again.

What are 3 things you should be doing, but you probably aren't? Pick one, and experiment with ways that you can start doing it and make it work in YOUR life. (i.e. drink more water, work out an extra day a week, sleep better, etc.)

Frustration just means you haven't found the answer yet, but your brain is still looking. Be patient, it may be that you try several strategies before one sticks, but when one sticks your golden.

Be easy on yourself. This process may take time, but that is a good thing. It gives you an opportunity to really get in touch with yourself and your emotions. You will find out what works for you and what doesn't, what you like and don't like, and in that process you will really get and idea of who you are and what you would like to create.

    Good Luck!
