Staying on track @ an all inclusive....

I'm so very close to my goal and now I'm heading out for a well deserved vacation with my hubby. It's our 'honeymoon' although we've been married a year and a half!
My problem is I don't want to gain a bunch of weight at the all inclusive resort we are headed to. I need advice on how to stay on track...
Anyone have any ideas? All advice is appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

I would say...go, have a good time, worry about food and whatnot when you get back. You can't track your life. (well you can, but that's hardly a recipe for fufillment). It's a vacation.
So go, get all your water in, choose foods that aren't slathered in sauces, eat slowly and until you are full, and just enjoy life. When you get back, track your cals again for about a week before stepping on the scale (so you don't freak out at the likely bloating weight you will have from higher sodium content).0 -
My advice is probably not what you're looking for, but for me, vacations are my free time. I had a week in Mexico about two months after I started, a week in San Diego after I hit my first big goal, and a few one or two day trips here and there. During those times, I don't go crazy and way overindulge just to overindulge, but I also don't stop myself from eating really good food and enjoying myself. Then I just go back to my normal ways when I get home.
My overall results? Pretty much negligable. I "gained" four pounds on the San Diego trip, but three of those dropped off almost instantly after getting home (like, within a day or two, so they were probably water weight from not drinking enough) and the last pound came off at the end of my first week of being back.
I've never had anything that I "gained" while on a vacation stick to me for longer than a week after I got back. So my advice is to have fun, relax, lounge on the beach and enjoy a few days of some really good food that you don't have to pay anything for. As long as you don't continue the same style of eating when you get home, you should be fine.0 -
Be sure to take in all of the activities that you can....swimming, walks, etc. all burn calories, and keep your mind off of food.
Everything in moderation. Go ahead and enjoy the tempting foods, but in moderation.
Don't beat yourself up if you gain a few pounds while you are gone. You've done an incredible job, and you can get back on track when you return.
Most importantly, ENJOY yourself and your husband on your getaway. Life's too short to not take the time to do something like this. Speaking from experience, you never know what tomorrow might bring your way.0 -
Grilled fishes, chicken and salads. When ordering remember that sauces are made a lot of times from cream and butter.0

Wow, you're so small already! I would say to not stress over it too much, just eat lots of veggies and fruit and drink lots of water so it's easier to not go overboard on the unhealthy stuff. I hope you have a fabulous time!! You certainly deserve it!!!0

I have to agree with the previous comments. Although this is a lifestyle change, you still have to have fun. If you gain a couple pounds you can worry about that when you get home. You don't want weight loss completely taking over your whole life. You've already done an amazing job, it's not like you'll gain 100 lbs during one trip.0

Skinny people go on vacation, gain weight then take it off as soon as they get back.

I'm with everyone you go on vacation not to think about your diet..Although when you go to an all inclusive you can find healthy food...Me and my husband went to Mexico in Oct last year...I tried the dessert but everything is small so your not going to go crazy...We did a lot of activities also so we weren't just lying around either..Go on some tours,bike,swim you'll be fine..We did alot of walking also..Have fun0

Mixed alcoholic drinks at those resorts look delicious and pretty, but if you're going to drink, stick with wine, light beer, or a calorie free mixer. All of those juices and syrupy mixers are LOADED with empty calories!0

Look at it as a test of your new skills, but don't get too stressed out about it!
When I had an opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan after losing 72 lbs, I was worried I'd lose complete control, but I didn't. I made healthy choices; avoided unhealthy ones; indulged in a few WONDERFUL bites of sin here and there; paid attention to what I drank (the Japanese drink A LOT!); walked constantly; paid attention to how my body felt, and never felt deprived or like I was on a "diet". And I came back after 2 weeks at exactly the same weight.
So have FUN!0 -
