So, I made my first Oopsies last night... I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out, bar one thing:
THEY WERE SO SALTY!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to offset the saltiness? The recipe I used is as follows:

3 medium eggs
100g Philadelphia
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Thanks :flowerforyou:

The recipe I have uses cream of tartar, not sodium bicarbonate, but I don't think that will solve your saltiness.
Maybe look for a different brand of soft cheese with a lower salt content?

  • Recipe Ingredients for Oopsie Bread -12
    3 large eggs
    1/8 tsp cream of tartar
    3 ozs cream cheese
    1/8 tsp salt

    Separate eggs.

Beat whites with cream of tartar until stiff.

Beat together the egg yolks and cream cheese and salt.

    Fold whites into yolks.

Using tablespoons, put 12 mounds on a cookie sheet and spread until about 1/2" thick

Bake at 300F about 20 minutes.

They should give to the touch and be slightly brown on top. Too long and they get crumbly.

Yeh, I didn't have any Cream of Tartar in so just used my 'go-to' bicarb!
Maybe using a different cream cheese would help though.

Thank goodness I didn't add any extra salt...
