should i run my first race?

Hey so I signed up for a 5k 4 months ago (I know it's only a 5k but it's a big deal to me) and I loved running and training and it kept me sane for a while and I was so excited but now I'm in a slump. I haven't ran in almost 3 weeks due to personal issues and not feeling up to it, my race is in 3 weeks and I'm moving out across the country in 2 and a half. Is this too much added stress? I used to be able to run 5k in a 30:32 time but I dread to think how slow I'd be now. Is it just not the right time?

Do it. What is the worst that could go wrong? Probably not much.

What could go right? You'd feel great preparing for it, will help with stress. You will feel great while you are doing it, because you are part of something bigger. When I compete...I get a high just being around other like minded people. And best of all, you will feel great afterwards, as you know you accomplish something. And it will be a learning experience, something you can build on.

Now, get those running shoes on and GO!!!

Please never say "just a 5K"..........

Having said that, get out and run that race. It will help shed some of the stress you've been accumulating and may just be the kick-start your running needs to get back on track.
