Is 6" alot

Last night I realised that I have lost 6" off my waist is this alot in most people's standards?

I wasn't really sure I haven't gone down more than one size in clothes as my hips have only gone down by 2"?

Heck yeah! That is awesome! How did you only go down one size with 6"?! I'd measure in pants size and not dress size, btw.

That is quite a lot! I guess the degree of how big of a difference it is depends on what your measurements were before. Someone who's waist was 40" who lost 6" is a pretty big difference, but someone who was like 70" won't see as much of a difference.

    Absolutely!

Depending on how you were carrying your weight in the first place and your particular genetics, weight loss from one body part to another can vary widely. This isn't unusual at all.

Well I started off with a waist of 42" and hips of 43"

Now I have a waist of 36" and hips of 41".

I am a hourglass shape when I'm not covered in fat.

I think I have lost some weight around my chest as my band on my bra is on a tighter hook but I didn't measure that when I started.

This makes total sense if your an hourglass at your ideal/slim size. Think about it this way - hourglass means a waist from 8-10 inches less than hips roughly 34-24-34, 36-26-36, 38 28 38 etc. depending on weight and body frame. If you lost 9 inches off your waist you will have a 27 inch and the same inch loss would bring you to a 32 inch hip, which would leave you with only a 5 inch difference between your hip and waist. Sounds like you gain and loss weight off your waist first and you are on your way back to your old familar shape.

Just a pain I can't get into my silmer jeans even though my current ones are way too big on my waist.

Abdominal fat is the most important loss for health, and for women, hips can be the last to move. Good work, my lady. You're looking great!

    My initial thoughts too.

In terms of a wrist? Yeah, it's a lot. My wrists are only 5.5 inches so if I lost 6 inches I'd have problems (sadly the rest of me is not that lean, I just have boney wrists).

Your hips might shrink next. Weight loss always seems to go 'top down' for me. Nice job!
