Recipe sources that give calories

Hi folks,

I've set a goal to try out one new recipe each week (last week was taco bites-yummy!). I'm looking for websites that not only provide recipes but the calories in those recipes. Any advice? Thanks!

You could always find out the calories in the ingredients: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calorie-chart-nutrition-facts

Cooking Light has all the nutrition info which is handy, though I often use the MFP recipe importer to edit their recipes a little. Good luck with your cooking goal, sounds fun!

I know MFP lets you do this, but I don't like entering the recipe until I've actually bought the ingredients. You don't know how much your chicken breast weighs or what brand of teriyaki you're using until you've bought it, and I don't want to go out and buy ingredients and then enter them and find out it's an 800-calorie meal. I feel more comfortable having an estimate beforehand.

added bonus: a lot of their recipes are in the MFP database.

Check out skinnytaste She posts calorie counts and they are usually pretty close to what I end up with when I figure them out with my specific ingredients in MFP.

Yes I also think skinnytaste.com is great! However, I made here amazing flourless brownie recipe once and the calorie count was off by 50 calories.. So i would double check, even if the calorie count is included in the recipe.

Thanks for the advice! This week's test will be breaded ranch chicken...only about 200 calories! Yay for allrecipes! I'll definitely check out Skinny Taste and Cooking Light, too :)
