I know it's kind of personal but whatever we all go through this sort of crap. So I haven't been pooping as much as I used to and I think that may be why my weightloss has slowed down or sometimes I go up a pound because I have just not been pooping! I wanted to know if there's something I can take or eat or whatever that will help me poop more ? Please I am being very serious.
Thanks
Also add me if you want to be friends seeing other people losing weight just like I am just motivates me even more (:

Add fiber and drink water, If that doesn't help there are otcs that can make you go.0
-
Drink a lot of water at least the 8 glasses that is recommended.0

Being constipated may not be a problem. I pooped less when I started cutting calories. It becomes constipation when you have to poop but you cant make anything come out. Be careful with dietary fiber. There is no real scientific evidence that it helps produce stool (it may actually make things worse!).0

I learned when I had a young child to think P for poop--peaches, pears, plums, prunes, pineapple, and peas. I'm sure I'm leaving some out but you get the idea.0

If you've increased your protein and decreased your carbs at all, you may have inadvertently decreased fiber as well. It can be a major issue with lowering carbs. You can supplement fiber to make up for it, or if you're not cutting carbs, try increasing fiber-rich foods like oatmeal and legumes.0

I do drink a lot of water but that still doesn't help me0

Exercise! Regular exercise is most important.
Drink water. Not pop, juice, coffee, etc. Water. (a little prune juice helps some people, but water on a regular basis is great.)
Eat fiber. Lettuce is great, but any fiber will do.0 -
smooth move tea works wonders. Prunes also help.0

Drink water and eat lots of fruit for fiber. Even if you try to reduce carbs, targeting refined sugar and flour is better than reducing fruit intake. I disagree with people who recommend not drinking tea and coffee--they are mostly water and have some diuretic as well as helping with bowel movements. Just don't add sugar.0

Magnesium pills were the answer for me. Google it.0

So would green tea help me poop more if I drink it after eating a meal ?0

You're diary is closed, so i have no idea how many calories you're eating or what your macros look like. But as far s being regular goes, there are three things that are important (two were already mentioned): Lots of water, enough fiber (try to shoot for ~25g a day), AND enough (healthy fat in your diet! If you are on a very low fat diet, that can cause constipation even if you drink enough water and have enough fiber. Think of it as lubricant for your intestines (I know, not very appetizing).0
-
Make sure you are getting appropriate levels of fiber, fat, and water. Too much fiber with too little water and fat can cause constipation. Can't say more without you opening your diary.0

Not sure about the green tea - but for myself, if I'm not going regular, I start juicing & I drink the pulp too. Basically - whatever I have the in the fridge that is green, (Kale, spinach, celery, broccoli) and then I throw in some pineapple/strawberries/papaya & add water. Mix well in blender and voilà. I will drink 2 full glasses right away and leave the rest for the night or next morning.
I poop like a champ with that concoction. The plus side? It also helps you pee and clears out your skin....0 -
Fiber and more fiber with a side of water.0

I eat 1200 calories daily sometimes more when I exercise0

I think everyone skipped the part where OP says that she believes pooping less is making her gain weight....
OP, going to the bathroom less will not cause you to gain FAT. True, we all might be a half a pound lighter if we weigh right before and after a good poopin', but do not confuse this with somehow halting your weight loss. If you keep working out and eating well then you are making progress regardless of your bowel regularity.
Just a reminder, less food and calories will = less waste = less poop. If you FEEL constipated (different from just going less) than consider fiber or a VERY MILD over the counter laxative- perhaps the smooth move tea someone mentioned. Laxitives are a tricky thing- if you use them too often your system becomes dependent so they are not a permanent solution, just something to try if you have an isolated bout of constipation.0 -
Well today my macro was
41% carbs
45% fat
14% protein
But that was without counting dinner
Where I had some chicken with salad and lite dressing0 -
Then why could I have gained a pound if I am following my calories and only eating 1200 a day ? I don't understand why I would gain I thought it was because it's hard for me to poop0
-
Fiber and fat. And coffee.
It's normal for weight to fluctuate. If you're constipated you may see some scale weight but the important thing is that it's not fat. So don't worry about it. My weight fluctuates within a 5 lb range. Just follow the overall trend.0 -
In addition to the rest of the advice you received, make sure you are eating enough food overall. Too little can lead to constipation. You will gain weight but not fat from constipation-the pipes are clogged so there's more weight but the pipes themselves didn't become heavier.0

It's not fat.
If you're backed up, you're full of crap and that what caused the poundage. Once you do go ( and eventually you will) that extra "poundage" will go right along with it.0 -
Two suggestions:
(1) Are you drinking enough water? I personally aim for over 100 oz per day (more if intensely exercising). If you aren't getting enough water, your body often will retain water and your weight will go up (not because you've gained weight but because you're retaining water). Plus, it does affect elimination (more so than fiber for most people) because the colon is reabsorbing water from the stool. So, up your water if you're not drinking much or drinking things that are diuretics (i.e. caffeine, soda, etc.)
(2) Magnesium. It's an extremely common deficiency (more so than vitamin D even). Most people are magnesium deficient -- I've seen estimates up to 70% of the population. That's why milk of magnesia or immodium A-D are recommended for difficulty pooping -- it's the magnesium. You can also get magnesium over the counter in pill form. I opt for ZMA -- a zinc magnesium supplement because both are essential for recovery after heavy lifting to help the body repair muscle.0 -
Fiber fiber fiber! And water! I just had a baby and fiber and water is super important after that. Pears are an excellent source of fiber and they're in season now where I am. Fruit in general is what you want to eat, but you can also google other high fiber sources. All the best!0

Be sure to get enough exercise, especially walking. That along with drinking more water and getting more fiber in your diet should do the trick. Good luck!0
