Two NSVs - what are yours from today?

I had two remarkable NSVs and I'm really proud of them both.
1. I bought two tops in an XL size today when at several points in the not so distant past I had to purchase 3X. (Looking forward to the day I can shop for my whole body in misses - I won't know what to do with myself with so many choices!)
2. For the first time in my life of counting calories, I had several hundred calories leftover and I really didn't feel like I needed to eat them (i.e. I wasn't hungry for something else to eat). Wow! That was a neat feeling.
What exciting or even subtle NSVs have others experienced today?

I had someone come up to me and compliment me after I killed it in Zumba Step class earlier today! I was silly happy and felt awesome.

I buttoned the size 12 dress that has hung in my closet for 2 years waiting on me to get thinner! Its still too tight to wear, but it won't be long now!0

I fit into a 10 year old skirt, too bad it looked out of style. At least it fit. I migrated from obese to overweight too. Happy dance0

I cranked the treadmill up to 6.5mph and ran that for about 10 minutes...felt I could go for longer, but had limited time and needed to do the stairmaster and weights/abs.
also cleaned most of the L and XL clothes out of my closet last weekend and moved in the M & S clothes that I binged on:)0 -
I got up to 50lbs on the glute isolator...I started at 20? I have what is called noassatall syndrome...so Im working on it. I also got to the gym though I did not feel like it. I met my protein goal today.
It was a good day.0 -
Super stressed at work. I still ate within my calorie goal and came home and rode my stationary bike when I wanted Wendy's and to sit on my *kitten*. My weight loss progress is slow but the changes within are remarkable!

I have what is called noassatall syndrome...so Im working on it.
I feel you on this...have the same issue...didn't used to have it, even when I was down in the 130s in my twenties, but losing this weight in my 40s has been different...made my booty disappear rather than my boobs...weird. Have been doing the stairmaster pretty regularly and it seems to be helping.0 -
Put on my fave Levis that have been too small for over 2 years. Not only do they fit, I had to wear a belt!0

I walked two days in a row and I feel full today without gouging myself.0

I took my twins to a playcentre today, and rolled around with them on the jumping castle (and fell over when I dismounted), crawled on the playmat with my butt in the air - and I didn't care who saw me doing what, and didn't constantly tug at my shirt to make sure I was completely and utterly covered.0

I asked a very muscle bound guy at the gym for some advice on form when doing my squats and overhead press. Starting to overcome my "shyness/not fitting in" phobia around the weights. He was very helpful and interested in what I was doing. I explained the Stronglift 5x5 to him and showed him the app. He seemed impressed by it and we chatted in-between sets for a bit. Really helped me with the comfort level to be able to ask for help and then to get a positive response.0

I rocked a 20 year old dress from my pre-baby days last Sunday- because I could. You'd be surprised how many complimented me on the 'vintage' find. Everything old is new again!
Now to find an occasion for my 80's teal silk Georgio suit. :happy:0 -
I got Swiss Cake Rolls, and was satisfied after one serving.0

1) I weighed in this morning at 152.2lbs -- I haven't been that low since April 3/14
2) I actually pushed through my strength training this morning. It took me a couple hours longer to get started, but I did it!0 -
Put on my last years denim jacket and it was way to big. :bigsmile:0

I found that I can do real pushups instead of 'ladies pushups,' feeling strong!0

I went for a walk even though I had left my iPod at work and didn't have music to listen to.0

Great job! It's especially good feeling when you realize you can fit into much smaller clothes than you used to. I had a similar level of shrinkage.
Mine from today were: I had a good bike ride before 8 am (highly unusual for me) and I stayed under my calories goal 2 days running! I was maintaining for a while, but I decided I want to lose a little more weight (tummy pudge removal) and it's been hard getting back into the weight loss habits.0 -
Walked away from KFC and the Indian joint to get sushi..
I could of murdered a plate of curry, rice and naan but the calories are not there today.
I know its not a huge thing, but its really big for me.0 -
My first NSV is self esteem related:
I've been a huge dragonball z fan since the early 90's. A couple years ago when I noticed the "train insaiyan" and other dbz workout shirts I was probably more excited than I shoulda been LOL. I bought one, and the first day I wore it two things happened. A friend laughed and said I looked less like a saiyan more like Buu.. (fat character in dbz), and secondly when I went to the gym wearing it in the parking lot a group of younger guys drove by , one leaned out the car and yelled "GOOD LUCK FATTY" >_< I was pretty upset and just threw the shirt away. Anyway today, 80 lbs down but still far from my goal, I've ordered another shirt exactly the same but two sizes smaller. I finally have gotten to that point where I feel like if I like it, if I want it, I can have it. And I shouldn't give a d*mn what anyone else thinks or says.
Second NSV is shoe size! I went shoe shopping and found I can fit into shoes one size smaller than last time I went shoe shopping (almost a year ago). They're still wide width but, down one shoe size...I'll take it. Woot!0 -
Yesterday, I wore a shirt that used to be very tight on the bottom button, and it didn't pucker at all. Yey! Today, I tucked in my shirt and wore a belt instead of hiding my waist. :blushing: I'm on the right track, if I can just keep from derailing. :drinker:0

I was able to climb between 2 rails on the pasture fence instead of having to climb over the fence or open the gate. I've never been able to do that since we built this fence!0

What is a NSV? I see it is something good but what does it stand for?
1 - walked up the the roof of my apartment block this morning - 18 flights of stairs.

I spent the afternoon with my husband at the American WWII cemetery of North Africa. We walked for 5 hours around the cemetery and also around Carthage and down to the sea. When we were down by the sea, we couldn't find a Taxi to bring us home so we had to walk uphill to a main street to flag a cab. WHAT A WONDERFUL FEELING to not be filled with dread over having to walk to catch the cab. When we were close to home, the cab was stuck in traffic so I suggested we just get out and walk the last mile to get home. It's not great athletic feat but being free to enjoy a normal day out with my husband without feeling burdened by my weight was a VICTORY!0
