NASM v. ACE?

I have a new goal. I want to become both a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Fitness Nutritionist. I'd prefer to just take courses to become certified rather than go back to school.

I'd heard about NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) before and looked around their site, first. Then I saw some of the reviews on their Fitness Nutrition Specialist Course and started looking around for other places. I came across ACE (American Council on Exercise) that is NCAA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies) approved and that has a Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification which requires an NCAA recognized course as a pre-req, which is where the Trainer part comes in.

Is one of these organizations better or more widely accepted than the other? Thoughts?

I'm also trying to figure out what each program entails in terms of course timing and I'm not finding much information. One of them said it's a 12 week program but doesn't specify whether there are specific meeting times throughout the day or if it's a "go at your own pace" kind of thing. Any ideas on that?

Thanks!
