You don't get extra protein from a 'twin yolk' but less protein and more fat. The white of the egg is the protein rich part. The yolk is the fatty part.

Not entirely accurate--the yolk contains roughly 3g of protein and 5g fat, as well as fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids and other important nutrients. If you like 'em, eat 'em!
I love yolks but my logic is that since the extra yolk replaces some of the white, which is fat-free and higher in protein than the yolk, the end result is an egg higher in fat and lower in protein, right? But the yolks with 'twins' are actually two smaller yolks so the white amount and yolk amount might be the same in either case. But I don't think a 'twin' egg would have higher protein.

Is it fine to eat eggs with two yolks?I cracked two eggs and both were having two yolks in each.I'm not much concerned about it but my mom said its a sign that I'll have twin babies. -_-

how does that even make sense?

We used to have our own chickens in the back yard

Got a double yolk egg from time to time - round about once every few weeks.

Of course causing twins in humans is nothing but an old wives superstition.

"Old wives' tale" is a phrase. It's not implying anything about your mother personally.

This was on imgur the other day https://imgur.com/gallery/AWIY7dk

Lady got 11 double yolks in 1 box.

In the comments it said something about young chickens laying double yolks because their reproductive systems are still figuring out what the heck's going on.

There was a place where we bought farm fresh jumbo eggs, and more than half would usually have 2 yolks. I loved it because I could make an omelette with fewer eggs.

One time I cracked an egg and it had another shelled egg inside. I was just grossed out so I threw it away and didn't eat any eggs :indifferent:
