No Strenght Today

I have been improving little by little in my lifting. For example in my cable cross overs I had gotten up to 8-10 reps and decided to up the weight one notch. Struggled big time. Then tried incline dumbbell bench with the same weight I had been using for the past 3 weeks. Only could do 2 reps. I had been doing 8-10 with this weight. I threw in the towel and quit.

I just had no strength today. I ate really well yesterday so I should've had plenty of energy. Not sure what caused the lack of strength. Any pointers?

How much you rest and recover from your workouts? Also once a blue moon for me my workouts are so bad and low intensity. I usually just finish what I can and take a little longer rest.

I'll have random days like that. Usually happens if I am getting sick and I just don't know it yet. I have an extra rest day and I am usually good to go.

If you tried to amp it up on the same day, your chest was probably gassed so you couldn't do what you normally do. Just take an additional recovery day and give it a shot next time or simply add a rep to everything you do. It will still help build towards your strength goal

I have been working out (cardio, weights) I don't lift anything huge usually just 15-20 minutes after cardio 4-5 days a week rotating lifts, muscle groups between days. My routine has stayed the same and I have never felt this way before. I had a few other days where I did a very low calorie day the day prior and struggled but I ate very good yesterday. I wonder if I need to take a week off or something

I had that happen to me one day last week. I had to have my husband come lift the dumbbells off of me, lol. It was weird. After trying another couple of exercises I gave up. Then when I lifted a couple of days later I had a really good workout.

Sometimes is just happens, whether it's from lack of sleep, perhaps getting a bit sick, etc. I had been pulling 225 on deadlifts for a while, and then had one day where I just couldn't get it off the ground. It was a fluke, and since then I've been just fine.

It happens...I had a blah workout this week and it was just body weight...

realized I hadn't taken enough time off this month so I have started scheduling in rest days...

Lots of things can affect your lifts...food, sleep, rest days, how much cardio you did before or even just mental stress or tiredness (mental drain).

I would take a total rest day and then do a light day to ensure I felt well rest eat well and try it again.

Somedays we all just have an off day. Give yourself a break and start up strong tomorrow!

not every lift day is going to be awesome. It happens.

I would recommend trying to do your strength ahead of your cardio if it continues.

I think we all have days like that. Maybe try doing the strength stuff before the cardio so you have the energy to get through it.

I actually did less cardio today than usual. I met my goal yesterday so I decided to cut back on the cardio. To me it feels better to lift after cardio since I am nice and warmed up.

Can I recommend not a whole cardio session but a little warm up before weights. There is no way I could do my weight after cardio. Maybe if weights was a light day but I rarely do those.
