How much food? Proteins, etc...

So I've started to go to the gym... Been a week now approximately. I love swimming so I am concentrating my efforts on doing some Aqua Fit, and sometimes some swimming laps (slow /beginner level).

What do you suggest for a snack after doing 45 minutes of aquafit, or 30 minutes of swim laps (beginner level). And yes I do try to push myself even if I am a beginner. My heart beats so hard it's like it's moving me in the water sometimes haha.

Some say bananas, some say I should keep away from bananas that they supposidely make you gain more weight than loose.

Suggestions please!

I always replenish with protein. I generally think that the fitness community overestimates how much protein we need, but I do try to have most of my protein within forty minutes after my workout.

This usually means throwing in a several raw, unsalted almonds while I head home. I often do walnuts, too. Maybe a mug of tea to warm up and rehydrate (I'm a swimmer too).

Then when I get home I prepare a quick, high protein meal.

You claim to have a target weight of 175, and 67 pounds to go.

Eat nothing. You'll be hungry for a bit, but you'll be fine. Don't need a snack after a swim.

if you're hungry, have a snack (nuts or trail mix are pretty great.) bananas are also good (but not very filling for me.) or also greek yogurt is pretty good.

if you're blood sugar is getting weird and you need something quick, my choice is milk or chocolate milk. sometimes the vending machines in the gym have it. it's got enough sugar to bring you back to normal and protein to stabilize it. dried fruit will do it too, but it seems to take longer.

if you're not hungry though, just bask in the glow of a great workout then go home and have a meal. :)
