Weight loss losing friends?

OP, I am going through something very similar with a few friends from my old job. I didn't realize that we centered everything around food until I had put on a ton of weight and changed jobs. I still keep in touch with these friends through FB and work emails and have realized I can't talk to them about my weight loss without making them feel bad (and I don't bring it up unless asked). We even try to go out to lunch on a few Friday's each month and that seems to be getting strained ...with their comments about my weight loss. That is why I love my MFP friends! We are all on the same path:)0

Success can breed feelings of resentment from your friends, be it with weight loss, professionally, in a romantic relationship, or otherwise. My wife says it's other people projecting their feelings on to you that could come across as feelings of jealousy or frustration. You need to keep plugging away and hope that your success inspires your friend. I'd let her cool off a while and hope she comes around. Losing weight is something a million people wish they could do, but few are actually able to do. Be proud of yourself, as what you're doing is a major accomplishment.0
