Sauna

I've never used a sauna before but my gym has one. Do you use them? Anything I need to know about it?

  • I love love love mine! I swear some days its the only thing to make me want to go to the gym!

    - Don't hang out in there too long (max 15-20 minutes) because it can mess with your heart.
    - Don't go in it if you have any type of heart condition (my fiance has a-fib and can't sit in saunas)

    I like to go in before I work out to relax and warm up my muscles a little. I find it so relaxing. Depending on how intense my workout is I may or may not go in again after I work out. If I've done a tough cardio session I skip it but if I just did weights or something I usually pop in quick.

    I also like it to talk to people, you meet new faces and I've made great friends at the gym that started in the sauna! :)
