Hi Eliane,
I'm doing 1200cals a day too - I'm finding though that some days I have to control myself not to eat over 1200 and others I am 300 cals under - are you having the same issues?
I've been doing this for 1 week and I am not noticing any change in my body....

I aim to reach 1200.
I set mine to 1500 for days when I exercise.0 -
Nah, sorry, I don't starve myself.0

Hi there. Yes I am trying to stick to around 1000 calories a day. Pretty good for the most part.0

Be careful with 1200 cals if you exercise alot!! It caused me to stall...0

I am doing 1200 calories per day! It's not really that hard. I don't starve myself and there are days when I go slightly over or slightly under! It's all about what you choose to eat ~ and the choices we make effect the end result! Would love to have more friends to support each other too!0

You are luck to eat 2000kcal/day and look as good as you are in your photo!!! I wish I could be like that! :-)0 -
Feel free to friend me, but be warned, while MFP set me at 1200, most days I burn 1000+ calories working out, so I actually eat like horse :blushing:0

You should eat at the very lease 1,200 calories a day. If you don't your body will go into starvation mode and it will make weigh lose even harder. Even worse if you work out at all.0

Yes, I'm on 1200 cals a day too, and finding it a bit difficult, to say the least. But I'm hoping we can all support each other and get there in the end! :-)

My calorie goal, daily is 1290. Without training, I have no chance.0

Lets go!! We can do it together!!!0 -
I keep hearing lots of different things about the calorie intakes, I was told that if you do any exercise that you then need to eat those calories so your body doesnt go into "starvation" mode. I have my cal intake set for 1490 (this was set for my weight) I get daily exercise as I work at the N.H and walk and push residents in wheelchairs. But I am under my calorie intake everyday after the exercise. Which I would think was a good thing, but I'm super confused, and really I am with you all on just trying the loose weight in a healthy way.0

Me too!! I always go over my 1200 limit but I feel that if your feeling weak....eat something! I'm trying to wean myself down to the 1200 calorie a day mark but not going to make myself sick trying to lose a couple of pounds.....I have plenty of time to get to my goal weight in a sensible amount of time.0

i set my cals at 1150-1200 for a few years and now finding it has hurt me more than help me. this is a very touchy subject. if i would have known then what i know now, i would have never set my cals so low with the amount of exercise i do. i have recently upped my cal intake and prepared for what is about to happen. i highly suggest setting up with an nutritionist to help you set your intakes. i wish i would have.0

Everybody is different, isn't it?
Before I start to diet I was 10kg fatter then before to have a baby. My food intake was between 1.400-1.500 kcal/day. And, as you can see in my diary, I eat VERY healthy and it was always like that. I just control quantities and I didn't change anything else. Still I didn't lose weight!!
If I want to lose weight I HAVE TO be between 1000-1200kcal/day or nothing will happen. And I am f***up of my size!! :-( :-( :-(0 -
You can add me as a friend. I need the support. I am on the 1200 a day but I try to burn at least 300 a day on the treadmill and eat back 150.
It can frustrating because. I am eating as healthy as possible but even eating healthy will take you over your limit if you dont' watch. (OMG, why if fruit so high in calories, and avocado's <-- that's a meal in itself).
Look forward to friend you and handling this challenge together.0 -

I hate exercise!!!
I do it just because I have to.
Ohh gosh!!...0 -
I'm at 1200 a day before exercise. I have days where I eat more, but seldom eat less. I do eat my exercise calories for now since the website encourages it, but I normally drink them in a protein shake rather than eat them. I'm always looking for friends and definitely food ideas, so feel free to friend me and we can work on this together!:drinker:0

If that's what you do for work, then that's not exercise. You should have your activity level set appropriately, and anything aside from work is exercise. For instance, I am a waitress and walk for hours and hours a night...that isn't considered exercise. I won't lose weight from counting that as exercise, since I gained weight in the past despite walking for hours a day. Make sense? :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm at 1240 cals a day... it's challenging, for sure!
When I logged my glass of blueberry-pomegranate juice this morning, and realized it was like 1/10th of my calories for the day, it was rather sobering.0 -
I am on the 1200 a day as well as so far, it hasn't been terrible. I seem to always be under and I know I need to not be so under as well. I just find myself too scared to eat something incase I go over or am eating the wrong thing. Im told it gets easier and since this is only week two, not im worried so much.
Good luck on your journey and friend me if you all want!0 -
i'm on 1200 a day, before exercise0

Yes Sweetie am on a 1200 cals a day, I be more than happy to share my log with you,0
