Weight Gain and Birth Control

Hello Everyone!!

Hopefully this is the right thread, but I was wondering if anyone has actually gained weight while starting birth control. I was able to get rx'd the birth control patch. This drug strongly recommends users to be under 198-200lbs to be most effective. I am worried about any weight gain from the med itself while I try to loose my last 15 to 20lbs.

Thank you in advance for any input.

Apparently, studies on large numbers of women fail to find a connection to weight gain:

I think when women gain weight while on birth control, it's because they're spending more time in bed.
  • I lost 90 lbs taking bc pills. I think sometimes they can cause temporary water weight gain, but it's not actual weight weight. If that makes sense...lol

Totally makes sense. Thank you. I was getting a little nervous about it!
