I'm on 3rd week of C25K, Hubby & I signed up for a 5K without any regular exercise and ended up doing 3 5k's in one week- mostly walking and since then I have started the program on my treadmill and am doing great. Any pointers would be helpful. I'm going slow, warming up on 4.0, then running on 5.3 and walking on 4.2. I also use 2lb hand weights while doing the program. On the last section of walking, I lift the weights over my head every other minute as if i'm lifting a bar of weights, I am seeing a difference in my arms. Please if someone has other ideas to help me out send me a message. I love reading everyone's stories.

  • I am finishing week 5 o c25k. Why does it go rom 8 minutes to 25 minutes of running. That's quite a jump, i'm just going to do the 8 minutes and then try to add on a minute I I can. What do you think about the difference? Are there any others doing this on the treadmill?

I'm running outside and using the Zombies Run 5k training app. It has a whole different pace to things.

This link might help you though

Running with handweights as a beginner doesn't sound like a great idea but take what I say with a grain of salt, I am still somewhat of a beginner myself.

I did C25K last summer and have continued running ever since, I'm doing my first 10K in 2 weeks. I remember thinking the same thing about week 5 but it really was very manageable and a very memorable run, I remember feeling so proud when I completed that run.

I would say if you've been able to complete all the runs up to that point, you should be just fine. I would go for it, it's really not bad at all and when you're done you'll feel an amazing sense of accomplishment. Good luck, you've got this!
