What is the most you have ever gained due to PMS? (Strictly due to PMS - not overeating or lack of exercise)
Just curious because I always feel like I gain a ton, but then it goes away in a few days.
I think the most I ever gained was 5.

Yes everybody does, it's called bloating or water weight... You haven't actually gained, it's just your body retaining water.0

Usually, it's just 2-5 pounds, but I've gone S high as seven or eight.
It sucks to see the scale go up, but it's fun to see it come back down.0 -
I usually gain about 5 lbs. I just wait until after my monthly to weigh myself, even if it is my day to weigh.0

The scale is up right now for me at least 4-5 pounds due to PMS and it's defying my food and exercise habits, because I've been eating & logging within a deficit and exercising often. I reckon that the foods I've chosen in the last few days are incredibly high in sodium and I'm also holding onto water weight. I'm hoping that I just start already and that by next week's weigh in the scale goes back down. I've been eating under 1400 calories a day, most of the time.0

My weight goes down two pounds during PMS and back up after. Weird.0

drink lots of coffee, its a very good diuretic, and tastes good too
I have minimum 3 cups per day0 -
Two pounds maybe. I also go up when I ovulate so I'm kind of like...Wow, I only weigh my goal or lowest weight like two weeks out of every month. Fun.0

I'm at the tail end of Shark Week (day or two left) and somehow managed to lose 5lbs . . . no idea how.0

Wow good for you! Mine sometimes comes off at the end of the week too. That's the best part.0 -

When TOM visits he always brings me 7 to 8 pounds. I totally avoid the scale that week because I know I'm going to hate what I see on the scale. But good thing is when TOM leave he usually takes those 7 to 8 with him. :laugh:0 -
Oh! Also, I get a huge belly. It's not just me who sees it. My friends say "wow, it really looks like your pregnant".0

This is very similar to me, and it's also why I've switched to weighing myself only once a month, usually as close to the same day of my cycle as I can manage. The fluctuations were just to much for me as I got closer to my goal.0 -

Perfectly reputable source, and true - and backed by most of the other responders.
So I'm just gonna SAY that after months of getting ALL excited by a low weight on the last few days before TOM...*MY* experience/pattern is that it is my LOWEST weight ALL MONTH.
It's infuriating, really. Sounds nice, but honestly, who needs to see 1.5 extra pounds on the day of heaviest flow? SRSLY, body, WTF??
Anyway, for me very little fluctuation due to cycle - within 1-2 lbs. And obviously on my body's own peculiar timetable. *grumble*:huh:0 -
