Hi,
I'm here to get some pounds off and they are pretty "stuck" right now. I've had some doctors mess me up and am dealing with the consequences. I was put on bioidentical hormones a few years ago. I kept gaining weight and gaining weight. Here I am now...with PCOS and almost 50 pounds of extra weight. I'm on Metformin, but it's not helped me lose more than 2-3 pounds. I am insulin resistant and I am coming to the realization that I am going to have to increase my exercise drastically to get this weight off. Metformin isn't helping. I don't really have time for the gym, but am at the point where I am realizing I don't have a choice anymore. My cholesterol is 289 and that scares me. I've never had cholesterol issues. I am dealing with low Vitamin D and have to take B12 shots due to pernicious anemia. Since finding out about the PCOS and cholesterol numbers, I've been throwing a bit of a tantrum and pouting. I don't like to be forced to do something I don't want to do and I fear failure. I am 44 years old. I'm a Mom to 3 kids and we homeschool. Most of my time is spent doing things for my kids and I can see that needs to change a bit. I've got to find some time for myself in order to turn this situation around. Thanks for reading. I'm happy to be here and my tantrum is over!

Hi Rebecca! I can definitely relate with you. I have been struggling with my weight due to thyroid issues and a lack of time because being a mom comes first. I've managed to lose 40 pounds, but gained a few back recently when I changed jobs, but I am also starting over today!
Your health is VERY important and you should make time to work out even if it is 20 minutes a day. I started doing yoga and bootcamp DVDs and my 6 year old will join me because she thinks its fun. This way you can incorporate time with your kids along with your workout. Maybe you can take a break every hour or two and do a group workout with the kids so you all get an energy boost. It actually helps kids focus more to take little breaks throughout the day! Maybe have like a break where you see how many jumping jacks you can do in 2 minutes or skip rope or even put on a fun song and dance for 5 minutes.
Another thing I did was start a garden with my daughter and we learned about healthy eating together. Gardening actually burns a good amount of calories as well as gets you outside which boosts vitamin D and even enhances your mood. Maybe you can try to incorporate gardening? I live in Florida so we are sunny all year and I can garden all year, but even indoor gardening can be an option if you are stuck indoors for the winter. Start small and definitely make good choices. If you need a friend for motivation and support, I am here for you! Best of luck!! You got this!!0
