Hiya everyone.
I'm Peachie, 24 years old, health professional living in London. About 2/3 years ago I weighed 13st (I'm 5'7") and I managed to lose 3 stone through healthy diet over the course of about 9 months to 10st.
During 2010 my life was kinda stressful and I turned to the good old comfort of food to get me through. I'm now around 10st 10lbs and would love to lose the 10lbs I've gained. My problem is that I comfort eat. I hate fast food but at the end of a shift that's been stressful I love nothing more than to eat a big plate of creamy pasta, or bread. Basically I love the comfort that carbs give! This will be my 3rd attempt to lose this extra weight but I really want to now as I have technically gone up a size on the bottom half and I want my clothes to fit like they used to!
I need encouragement to stay on the wagon! Also I would love to hear your advice on how you substitute food for something else as a reward or comfort! I also think my metabolism is really slow and would love to know what I can do to improve this.
Exercising between shifts is difficult but I'm thinking about going swimming on my days off to help!
Thanks for any advice!

Third times a charm!
Food substitutions, that's tough. Personally, I am always hungry. I was trained to eat everything I could because I never knew when I would get to eat next. Bizarre upbringing...
Anyway, I carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go. I start looking for something to eat, I drink some of the water. When it runs dry, it isn't to hard to get a refill.
I'm not sure if my method could be applied to you, but it could be a start?0 -
Welcome and I hope you stay on here. This is a great place to get people to help each other out.
I know it can be hard to work out when you have a day off, or say I'm to busy to work out because I AM working. That's crap. You just need to get your butt up earlier, or go to the gym/pool after work. Swimming is a great work out and you can loose a lot of calories doing laps.
I wish you all the best. Take care.
PS sorry if I came on so tough. I do know haw it is. As far as substitute foods. There a lot of foods I eat that I replaced some foods with. Others I don't but I get the lean stuff. Like Hamburger. I get the 93% lean. that like 120 calories for 4oz.. Today I'm making myself pizza. I';m having flat bread 90 cal. with ragu sauce 50 cal. for a half a cup (I'm using 2 table spoons.), Turkey pepperoni (yes it's good too I'm a guy so I don't like to eat crap). hamburger about 2oz., cheese mozzarella, and veggies that you put on your pizza. It's big good and filling.0
