I'm my own worst enemy...

Today I caved at lunch. I started off knowing that I was going to "cheat" a little and have sweet potato fries. That also turned into a slice of ginger bread-carrot cake ... and then salmon sashimi and sushi rice. This is NOT ok :noway:
I don't know what is wrong with me. Whenever I start to pat myself on the back for making progress with my lifestyle change, I completely fall, no DIVE, off the wagon. Why would this happen? It's almost as if, deep down, I dont WANT to succeed.

Slip ups happen. Don't dwell on it, just press on. Just keep going.0

STOP beating yourself up. If you expect yourself to be perfect you will never last. You cannot change what you did, only move forward.
So the next thing you put in your mouth, make it a good choice and continue doing that. Get a little exercise in, reset your head.
Remenber: you can be your own worst enemy BUT you can also be your own best friend... the enemy had a turn, lets go for the best!0 -
It happens, just jump back on the wagon!
It happens because old habits are hard to break.
Make good decisions the rest of the day, and start "fresh" tomorrow!
You can do it!0 -
oh dont beat yourself up we all do it..............on that note just hold your chin up and go do a little extra cardio for the day....and then start tomorrow off saying "im going to try really hard not to fall of the wagon again, because im undoing all the work and time i put into this"0

I have doe the same thing. I was down 7 pounds in the first two weeks and now this weekend I just didn't control myself enough. We can both get back at it! Just believe in yourself again!0

No negative self talk. It's in the past. Do not beat yourself up about it. Move forward and look forward from this moment. Live in this moment. Do not allow the past to dictate or influence your present.
And here's a helpful article:

You are entitled to have a day like this. If you never fulfill your cravings, you will overeat all the time. Letting it go once in a while, helps you keep going. Give yourself some treats from time to time. You can't forget about all the food that you love. You will have some more successful days I'm sure! Don't give up because you had a treat. Enjoy the treat and believe in yourself again!0

It happens to everyone... when I cave, it usually Culvers... a Mushroom and Swiss burger, cheese curds, and a chocolate snickers concrete mixer THAT IS HORRIBLE, so glad I haven't caved .... 11 days strong, but Culvers was calling to me yesterday... maybe once I hit my middle goal I will treat myself to some Culvers... just not all that at one time Lol0

I feel you! I always do things like that. Today, I had a slice of banana bread from starbucks. 480 calories!!! Holy hell! when i got home from work, I just crawled into bed, my mind telling me hateful mean things. Thanks to a friend on here, reminding me of how hard I work every day, I got myself moving and finished a whole tae bo dvd! something I've never done, i only ever get half way through it. Keep your head up It's easy to give in to cravings, but it's also easy to get yourself moving. Go out for a walk or something light, it just may make you feel good enough to work harder If it doesn't. It's just today, try again tomorrow0

It happens to the best of us. This past weekend was horrible for me, food wise.
Just tell yourself, I'll start again tomorrow. BUT don't go back on that. Get up and start over. If you keep telling yourself you did horrible, you shouldn't have done that, and all the negative you'll make yourself feel worse and you'll keep eating. No need for that!0 -
I've been in the same position for the past month or so. Usually I eat very well, and keep my weight at a low/healthy level, but I lost my willpower due to the fact that I'm usually surrounded by people that don't pay attention to what they eat on a daily basis. After seeing how easy daily life is for them, just grabbing at whatever's around and enjoying their french fries and ice cream sundaes, I couldn't help but follow suit. The difference is, their metabolisms are naturally fast, and mine is not. I gained about twelve pounds as a result, and found myself miserable and feeling very lethargic. That's when I found this site. I keep my daily food intake very organized, drink plenty of water whenever I feel bored or a little bit hungry between meals, and keep a clear image of what I WANT to look like. How comfortable I want to feel in my skin. That way, the motivation is always there and I push ahead. Good luck!0
