Question about exercize and calorie intake

I am currently following a 1,200 calorie a day diet, and losing pretty decently on it. But I've just started working out every day, and it seems that the weight loss has stopped... is it just my body is adjusting to the exercize--or do i need to up my calorie count for the day.
My second question is--i see people post on here, "I worked out and burned 600 calories, so that gives me an extra 230 that i can have for snack tonight"...... i don't get that, i didn't think you worked out --so you could eat more???
could someone please explain that to me??

You have to eat more when you workout to keep you metabolism up.................You just have to eat smart. If you go into what is called calorie deficit, your metab goes into starvation mode and will slow down so as to conserve what it has. 1,200 calories is awful low.0

Yes, when you work out, you NEED to eat more. You need to replenish your body from the calories that you burned. Unless, you over ate that day already. That is why it is important to be honest when you calorie count. If you are eating 1200 cals and you exercise, you need to eat the extra calories (or most of them) that MFP tells you to eat. I don't exercise unless I ate too much for the day or planned on eating out somewhere. That way I am still losing weight. If you exercise and don't eat those extra calories, you are putting your body into starvation mode and you will NOT lose weight. Good luck to you and I hope this helped.0
