Hi All!
I would like a little advice and constructive criticism on my food diary, please. This morning was quite bad (so starved after the gym), so please disregard.
I am trying to do more clean eating. Also, I need advice on my calorie portions per meal AND/OR the best time of day to eat the most calories. Just as a little background, I work out 5-6 times a week, including TRX, muscle toning, and cardio.
Thanks in advance!!

You're killing your calorie count with the amount of rice you're eating every day. Sushi is great for you, but the calories really add up if you're eating a lot of rolls. Try some sashimi pieces or just take the toppings off the nigiri and leave the rice balls. Also, you should divide your 500-600 calorie meals into two 250-300 calorie meals and eat 5, preferably 6, meals per day. By subbing some protein for all those carbs, you'll definitely reduce your calorie comsumption and be just as full.0

I try to eat most of my claories at night...when I am home with the family. I try to eat a low cal breakfast and lunch. I do need to try to cut back on my snacking. If you want to add me as a friend and view my diary you are more than welcome! We can motivate each other!0

Everyone is frozen in, lol! By and large, it doesn't look too bad. You are not consistently going over in any one area, like fat or calories or sodium, so that is probably a good thing. To avoid the overages read labels religiously! For me staying at or under my calorie goals as well as getting a good balance of carbs and proteins, especially when working out, has been key. And if you are staying hungry add more lean protein and more fiber.
Hope this helps!0 -
Your breakfasts look decent, but you should have a 200 calorie snack before lunch, so you don't have to eat 600 calories at lunch time to be satisfied. I try to have all my main meals under 500 calories, and usually under 400. If I'm eating sushi, I'll just eat one roll, or a roll and a couple pieces of nigiri or sashimi.0

I can't help but think you work at a Japanese Restaurant, lol.
I don't have anything to add, nothing is consistently "bad", but, if you are eating rice like this at home, try brown rice (unless you are making sushi, of course...but, if you are just eating a bowl of rice, or rice as a side...)
"They" say not to eat for the 3 hours before you go to bed.

I don't think it's too bad....maybe throw some protein in there somewhere and break your meals down into smaller ones...more fruits and veggies...sorry I know that's probably the typical answer..my food intake isn't great but I think I am making progress. You're welcome to view mine.0

You should always eat a good, substantial breakfast. If there is any one meal / time that you should eat the most calories, breakfast is it. Start with the highest proportion of calories during breakfast and gradually taper down throughout the day. Dinner needs to be satisfying enough to stave off hunger, but it should be smaller because you are less active and will be going to bed soon.
You shouldn't ever get to the point where you are feeling starved, for 2 reasons: 1) You will tend to overeat when you do get to have food, and 2) your body will start to go to survival mode if it senses starvation and turn down your metabolism.0 -
It looks like it's lacking proper meal planning and yes, there is an awful lot of white rice there. There's very little fruit and veg. How many meals you choose to have depends your personal choice and what fits into your lifestyle and work so I think 3 meals and little snacks is fine. Do a little meal planning for lunch and dinner and think how you can make proper meals, including some veg, to increase rough fibre and the overall health of the diet.0

Thanks everyone! I live a few miles from my fav sushi spot, so i'm tempted to ALWAYS eat there. I'm going to really work on limiting my rice intake and eating higher calorie snacks.0
