It seems like ever since I've lost my weight everyone around me seems to be gaining weight. Are they gaining weight or is it an optical illusion? Or maybe I'm just more aware of others and want to help them?

I'm seeing everyone around me losing weight, not gaining it. And two of them... 125 lbs... which is so much more than what I've lost (about 70 lbs now).

Is it that there are so many more obese people? Is it that willpower's viral? I have no idea.

What's interesting is that the ones who say they could stand to lose some... don't have to.

The world is weird and everything goes in streaks... local ones, I guess

I don't know if anyone has actually gained weight, but I've noticed people's weights a lot more than I ever used to. And oddly, I've noticed people that I used to think were thin/I wished I could get to their weight/I want to look as good as them, etc. no longer seem that way to me, and now I notice that I'm the same size or smaller than a lot of them.
  • My theory is that for every pound lost, someone finds it!

But, seriously, I think we become more aware of the weight of others, just like when we buy a red car, we notice all the red cars on the road. It is really great to be more aware of what is around us; it is not so great if we are judgemental. We never know what another person is going through.

    I think it's the later..
.We were at a Restuarant the other night and sitting at a table beside us was a BBW, eating a hugh steak, a hugh loaded baked potato and a full order salad covered with loads of Ranch dressing and bread with gobs of butter and to top it off well, heck why not throw in a piece of cake the size of TX...you know the slice I'm talking about. It was almost sickening to me. But I just felt so sorry for her, such a young woman, who is crippling her life with food. It was very sad. Wished I'd had a MFP business card to give her.. I think a site like this one is such a wonderful tool for any weight loss, and especially for large amounts of weight loss.
You have done a fantastic job with your journey and I'm watching and running after you as fast as I can...look out!

O NO...I don't want to be around a weight loser then!

    Good analogy though!

i would be so horrified if some stranger came up to me with a weight loss promotion card even if their intentions were meant to be good.

You're probably more aware. A trip to Wal-mart is an eye opener.
