I'm from NC, I know sweet tea! What I did to get off of it: I started making it unsweet, half gallon at time. I make a deal with myself everyday, after I drink 64+oz water, I can then have tea for the rest of the day, but it has to be unsweet or made with raw stevia. I like it unsweet w/lemon, orange or lime slices now. Took me about 1 yr to transition. Now, sweet tea is like pancake syrup to me. I actually like water with cucumber slices better than tea!0

I started going half sweet/half unsweet...
Now I am down to almost 80 percent unsweeet/20 sweeetened...
I drink more hot tea now...make a huge cup and at the most 1 t of sugar....
If I can do it..anyone can...
For me...I feel like I would rather cut back on sugar than add artifical sweeteners0 -
I've never drank tea sweet, i prefer mine unsweet with a squirt of lime juice. But I found that Luzianne brand decaf has the mildest least bitter flavor. Try it...then cut back the sugar slowly if you need to. And a squirt of lime makes it nice and refreshing!0
