Dinner with friends over the weekend to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and our friend's 30th birthday, and ON Valentines we have our first preconception appointment with the OB. :blushing: I'm just a little giddy about that! (Not preggers yet, just getting the ball rolling.)0

It's our third valentine's day & we never make a big deal about it because my birthday is three days later lol.
This year he decided he wants to make up brinner (breakfast for dinnerr) & heart shaped pancakes lol. So I'm going to make him some chocolate covered strawberries because he looves strawberries & chocolate lol. Then we'll just watch a movie & sleep til I have to go home (:0 -
My husband and I always celebrate Valentine's Day on February 15th. Candy and flowers are usually half off on that day and we get better service at the restaurant. We were planning on going out for Thai food but since we just did that yesterday we might go out for Indian instead. Or I was thinking about planning a pizza and a movie night for the two of us sometime soon so maybe we'll do that and have breakfast at Ihop. It will definitely not be a good diet day, though! :-)0

Valentine's Day super sux when you have no special someone to share it with. I will be keeping busy that day trying not to think about how lonely I am. :brokenheart:
I'll be ok. :flowerforyou:0 -
That's my birthday! No big plans though, just working. I'm lame like that.0

My husband and I make a big deal about Valentine's Day for the kids...We decorate the house with pink paper hearts, bake cookies or cupcakes and spend the day telling each other how much we love them...When my husband gets home from work, he always brings me flowers and a surprise and the kids each get something they've wanted (like a movie or game) and we have a family dinner while watching the Charlie Brown Valentine's Day cartoon. (My husband's gift is of the X-rated variety and he gets that after the kids go to bed)0

I haven't celebrated Valentine's Day since I was 19 and my girlfriend at the time went ballistic because—and I'm totally not exaggerating this at all—I didn't spend "a lot of money" on her. Boy, you can bet that most of our dates were dutch afterward ...
I've had girlfriends since then but always have made it clear that I don't and won't celebrate the day because I don't like the commercialism of it or a declared day that I should save up all of my attention and flirtations to give out then.
This year, however, I'm single and not too stoked on it, so I think it's going to be me and a bottle of booze next Monday.0 -
I have work till 5 p.m. (maybe a surprise will arrive at the office from the boy??) Teaching Turbo Kick that evening so it's going to be a short and sweet day for us. We're celebrating out at Seasons 52 the night before - a restaurant where it's healthy and everything is 400 calories and under.0

Just another day....can't wait for it to be over0

Celebrating 5 years of dating with the boyfriend! He told me the other day, "I made plans for us for Valentine's Day... so don't go making plans with any other guys!" Hahaha! So, I'm not sure what we're doing... but something, apparently!0

justin and i have a dinner/movie gift certificate we got from my sister for christmas, so we're going to use that on this saturday (since the actual day is on a monday) and he doesnt know this, but i'm surprising him with a javquzzi room at the marriott! so we'll get to town a little early for dinner, and i'll pull in the hotel and tell him we're here (i'll have an overnight bag packed for him in the back of my truck, and the dogs have a sitter lined up to let them out and feed them while we're away) so, dinner, movie, and.... jacquzzi room!0

Having surgery that day, a good way to spend the day.0

oo a jacuzzi room sounds so nice!!!
We're doing small gifts. I'm planning to make french toast and mimosas this weekend. Followed by more mimosas. I'm not sure what we'll do on the actual day since it's Monday. I'll have to think of a fun dinner to make together. Neither of us are much for crowds so I'd rather stay in on the day. It is kind of a day like any other- I love my boyfriend every day but OOh I can't wait!0 -

Awww, I don't blame you for not wanting to celebrate after an experience like that. That's....terrible.0 -

I didn't even particularly care at the time, as I knew that we weren't going to be together forever, but it was very much a "just enjoy this for what it is" relationship afterward. It has influenced me to behave somewhat stupidly toward a rather innocuous "holiday" with later girlfriends; I wish I would have been a smidgen more embracing of it, even if it wouldn't mean a lot to me ...0 -
At the weekend I'm going out for a yummy meal in a traditional English pub but with top end restaurant food and on the actual day my boyfriend is going to cook me something nice and we'll exchange cards!
No prezzies coz we're skint )0 -
