am i the only person using the site to gain weight? you might say eat more easy! but when you've had 2/3rds of stomach removed and was never big in the first place, its proving harder than expected. i have a standing bet with the missus that if i get to target weight i will propose, yet still no gain! watch this space an see if i can do it?
this site is great for seeing what im eating and seeing for health aspects also

have u tried having fortisips they are different flavoured "milky" drinks 300 cals for each bottle and can be used as a sole source of calories so if u add them as extra to ur food should gain weight (hopefully) u might be able to get them on prescription from ur doctor0

Pleased to meet you, can't say I'm here to gain weight but I should imagine it's pretty difficult given your circumstances, and you don't necessarily want to eat unhealthily.
Use the database in the same way as I've been doing (but looking for the opposite figures), it's good to just sit for 15 minutes and key in some of your favourite foods, for me to see the horror or huge calories, for you to see what you should be eating. Lots of natural high cal foods are also good for you - olive oil, honey, avocado etc. drizzle GOOD extra virgin olive oil on everything!!!0 -
At the moment I'm trying to loose a bit. However, over the last couple of years I've been up and down with my weight. At one point I needed to put on 30 pounds just to be healthy again. The best thing I did was add Ensure (I forget what they are called, but the highest calorie ones), three times a day in addition to meals and snacks. It still took a good year or so, but slowly the weight came back on. I'll even go as far as to say a little too much, because now I'm here taking the extra off. lol
I understand what a battle weight gain can be. I'll send you a friend request. I know lots of good tips and would love to see you take this journey and propose to that woman of yours!!!0 -
I am not on here to gain weight, but I have 2 daughters with CF. They struggle to maintain their weight, muchless gain weight. We use Scandishakes. You should be able to order them at your local pharmacy. They come in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. My girls love them. An 8 oz. serving has 600 calories. I usually add chocolate syrup to it and sometimes even mix it with full fat ice cream or peanut butter. It is an easy way to get 1000+ calories in a snack. There is also a premixed shake called VHC (very high calorie) Carnation Instant Breakfast by Nestle. You can order those by the case online. Good luck.0

Ensure Plus has 350 calories. They should help you. My mom needs to gain weight as well, and that has helped her, although she still has a ways to go.0

Those were the ones I was talking about. These are also great mixed with ice cream and frozen strawberries and bananas. When I was in the hospital, that was how they would prepare them for me. They really do help.0
