Hello everyone. I look forward to using this site and sharing my ups and downs with like-minded folks. I'm currently at 370lbs at 5'11 in height so you can see I have a long road ahead. I just hope I can truly make this change and for once in my life be a healthy person.

For sure man. If you want to add me and get a general idea of what your day should look like feel free.
I'm warning you now, you're going to have to lose a lot of the foods you love. After 2-3 weeks you'll forget about it but it's tough0 -

Welcome and best of luck to you!!
You can do this if you keep your head in the game, so to speak. It's ultimately your choice and we're all here to help you.
Personally, I'm of the beliefs, you don't have to give up anything. If you want to have a "clean eating" lifestyle, great. I choose to have a healthy & realistic lifestyle for myself. What do I mean? You don't have to give up anything!! You can eat the things you love. You just need to determine how much you can eat to fit into the numbers.
Feel free to add me if you want. I'm always willing to help where I can.0 -

Hi! You can do this! I have been struggling with my weight for awhile now too, and I joined this site a couple weeks ago. The support of everyone on here is really helping me and I think it will help you too. So, welcome and I hope you enjoy this site as much as I have in the short time I have been here. Change is hard for all of us - but we are worth it.0

Oh, I forgot - feel free to add me as a friend. I have a couple of friends on here - not many yet. So, I would welcome you as a friend if you are open to making a new one.0

Hi Jason,
Good for you. I just restarted here last week. I did it two years ago and was amazed at how much easier it was to drop some LB's just by being truly aware of what & how much you're eating. (notice I said "easier" not "easy"!) It really does make a difference in your choices. Do your best and don't kick yourself too much on those days when you blow it, just get back on track ASAP. (This site is great for that too.)
Best of luck man! Do it!

Welcome! Just do one step at a time, so you don't overwhelm yourself! Some people are very religious about counting every single little thing- water, sodium, protein, etc. But very few start out that way. I just joined a little over three weeks ago (I know it says April 2010, but I joined, then promptly did nothing about it until January 21st) and at first I felt guilty because I didn't try to be perfect. But I also know that I can improve a little every week. For example, I didn't change any of my eating habits other than counting calories. After a week, I added exercise. This week I started drinking WATER. (It was diet pop before.) I already know that the next thing I'm going to do is look at my sodium, because it is WAY over right now. But I'm not going to overwhelm myself with rules of perfection. Just have fun with it! Honestly and truly, whenever I'm feeling tempted or lazy or anything negative at all, I get on this site and am reminded by all my amazing friends that it DOES work, and that I'm not alone in this. I started off at 298lbs in April 2010, and when I came back, I was ONE pound lighter. Almost an entire year wasted. I'm not doing that anymore. I lost 12 lbs my first ten days (13, including the one pound deficit from the previous year), and since then it's been a struggle, and I gained a pound my third week. I'm 5'9" at 286lbs. I totally understand the long road ahead. I'm going to do this. And so are you!0

Thanks for the support. I'm looking forward to the future me!0

Hi Jason, you've taken the first and most important step, use the site daily, i found several times a day was helpful in the first week , the support here is awsome, you are not alone, were all travelling the same path...good luck :happy:0

Hi Jason, with you every step of the way. You will do it! You've already made your first positive step )0

Yo J
How's it goin? I had a mixed couple of weeks. I was VERY good Week 1 and dropped about 5 lbs. So then I congratulated myself the next two days after the weekly weigh-in and promptly put almost all of it back on!!! Grrrrrrrr. Got back on the bike (figuratively & literally) the rest of the week. Looks like I'll weigh-in tomorrow right back around that 5 lbs lost level. On the one hand, I'm PO'd at myself that as soon as I did something good, I turned right around and blew it. On the other hand, thanks a great deal to just getting right back on here and tracking myself, I caught myself quickly and got going in the right direction again.
How are things going for you?
