When people post bump in a forum, it "bumps" the topic back to the top of the list under most recent topics.
Often, there are cases where things will go un-noticed or people want things to be listed as an important topic and "bumping" it allows that to happen.0 -
It also allows you to easily access it from your profile page under the topics you have posted on...so if it's info you want to look at later, you bump it and then it'll be easier to find!0

Bump serves 2 purposes.
1, it allows someone to come back to the post easily as once you've commented it stays on your recent history etc
2, bumping a topic keeps it at the top of a board so more people see it
basically if no one had answered this say in an hour you could have posted bump and it would have put it back at the top of the subjects0 -
i have always wondered what it meant - and iv been on here since august haha!0
