Now I just need some accountability so that I don't stuff all of the contents of the fridge in my face. I am a cupcake addict, and I really love food, but I want to regain my former glory.

I spin 3 days/week (but this is only my 3rd week doing this), and I jog 3 days/week, but I am not seeing the scale go down. I know why. I eat too much. So that is what I need help with! I want to lose 30 lbs before we start trying to have baby #2. I have been working out steadily since August. Now I must admit food defeat and put down that fork.

Helpful hints, tips, tricks, avoiding boredom binging, and your filling and satisfying snack tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I am the same way. I exercise like a banshee, working out isn't the problem. It's just the fact that I could eat literally all day long! I think the way to do it is to Google "negative calorie foods". Keep them nearby always! Plan ahead with baggies of carrots, an apple, a banana (not necessarily negative cals) all nearby when the craving starts. And log it all!!!! And drink water. A lot of water. For me, gum doesn't work...mint is gross to me and I usually end up just swallowing the fruity gum right away, then I'm back to where I started...

Just like exercise needs dedication, so does the diet part.
You need to work at it. It doesn't come over night.
It's a matter of walking away, not buing the junk any more.
I don't care if there are kids or a husband in the house. They don't need junk food either. It's only setting a bad example.
As my signature says - you wont eat it if you don't buy it!
    Find your will power!
    You can do it!:flowerforyou:

This is the first time I have ever counted calories... logging them on here and seeing my end of day totals really helps. I am more aware now of everything I am eating and learning a lot. I may not always make my calorie goal but I am steadily lowering my calorie intake for the day. I also asked my husband to please not bring a few foods in the house that are my weaknesses, and if he must than to hide it from me! :) I also think that drinking water all day helps. When I feel like a snack I make myself finish a glass of water before I eat and I usually don't even want it when I am done.

Oh, honey, you could be describing me when I first started on here! I worked out like a fool (still do) and I had friends saying they couldn't understand how I wasn't a twig. The first 2 weeks are a pain in the bahooney logging EVERY SINGLE BITE. Measure everything. Once you start seeing where you are wasting calories (by wasting, I mean spending them on things that won't keep you full or are just truly not worth how many calories they have in them) you will start spending those calories more wisely.

I don't always eat the healthiest but it's 80 % pretty good and I can maintain this for life. Drink tons of water, eat every couple of hours so that when you sit down to eat you aren't famished and eat everything in sight. If you are a cupcake addict, don't have them in the house, don't make them. If you want a cupcake, go to the store and buy one. I have to do this with cookies. I can not have them in the house, I can not make them, I can't even have the raw cookie dough here. I'll eat every one. (seriously, our girl scout cookies are in a locked cabinet that I don't have the key to!)

Take a look at my diary, (ignore the girl scout cookies please! plus it was my son's birthday so that's in there too) There are lots of different things for lunch and dinner and snacks. My breakfast is pretty much the same thing every day but it's very filling and I don't feel the need to snack before lunch.

Good luck, you can do this if you put your mind to it. You have a great motivation and if I can do it at 47 years old with two teenagers, you can do this now.

Thanks for the encouragement. I don't usually have junk in my house. I have things that are easy to over eat, and I have a hard time with the "I'm tired, I don't feel like cooking, let's got to the local burrito place down the street for dinner," excuse. I dream about cupcakes, but I never make them. Unfortunately, I live in Seattle and baked goods are like coffee stands, there is a bakery on every corner.

I need to re-learn some old good habits. Before having my son, I never ate sweets. Then I got pregnant and craved them. Unfortunately, now I can't shake those cravings. I need to find a balance because deprevation leads to binging, and that is my downfall!

We don't buy ice cream, chips, sodas, or any of the typical bad pantry items. But I do need to learn to portion out my food better. And I need to learn to be patient. It took me awhile to gain this weight, it's going to take awhile to lose it!
