Any one have trouble with their strapless HRM reading heart rate during exercise? Any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong? It's a Bowflex.

i have a new balance hrt fit + and i have difficulty with it too. it takes over 5 seconds to find my heart rate, if it is able to find it at all. not very convenient if i have to actually stop exercising (which will immediately cause hr to start dropping) and i don't really know how frequently i should be taking my hr in the first place... :blushing: i haven't found a solution, but i will watch this thread for input. thanks for throwing this out there! i was just so excited to get a hrm in the first place i didn't want to complain!

I have seen several people at my boot camp have problems with their strapless hrms. They aren't very accurate in the first place if they don't have a transponder across your chest area. I have the same burning zone as someone else at my boot camp. My FT4 read me at 400 calories burned the other day and I was in my burning zone the entire time. This other person was only in the zone for like 5 minutes out of 60 and their strapless hrm read them out at about 700 calories. There was no way it was accurate. She eats back all of her exercise calories and she has been gaining weight. And I think that is why. I suggest you toss the new balance strapless and convert to one with a chest strap.
