Question about swinging?

I was at the park swinging for about 50 mins. I don't mean sitting on a swing moving back and forth slowly, I'd say it was an average speed though. It made my legs hurt a little from the motion of going up & down.
Is that even a good way to work out? I can't figure out how many calories it would burn so I'm just curious about it.

Haha not what I was thinkin' :laugh:0

Well, you did something, but it's obviously not the most efficient exercise. If you wanted to log it, I would suggest a 25 minute 3 mph walk, but that may even be too much.0

ME TOO! I thought to myself "this site is really getting personal"! HA HA0

unless you got sweaty and short of breath, i'd say you may have burned 50 calories. When I have a minimal effort work out or when i am working at the hospital and spend much of the day on my feet, i log it as walking 2 mph for about 1/4 to 1/2 of the time i actually did it0

i think "that" kind would burn more calories than swinging on playground swing.
to answer your question - I would say no, it's not a good way to workout and wouldn't record it as such.0 -
I'm right there with you all. I saw swinging and was like o.0 say wha' now? *click* lol!0

On my first date with my wife, we had to stop by her house for a moment to pick a bathing suit up. I followed her to her room and was standing there as she went through her dresser looking for a suit. I looked up and saw an industrial sized hook in the ceiling. Above the bed. Not the right location for a hanging plant and much too sturdy.
My curiosity got the better of me. I asked her about it. She didn't flinch when she told me it was for a swing.
I proposed to her 6 weeks later. Still hang it up from time to time. Very pleasant way to burn calories.0 -
Poor kid, the whole thread is about how y'all misinterpreted the word swinging, very few people answered her question. In response to your question, i dont think its a good workout, but u did burn something0
