I am having a really hard time eating back to 1200 NET after exercising. Any power food suggestions would be appreciated!

Nuts are very calorie dense, and contain protein, fiber and healthy fats. A handful or two of nuts makes a great snack. Also dried fruit, although you'ld be missing out on the protein and healthy fats.

  • Try whey protein powder
  • Have a protein shake: 1 scoop protein, 1 cup skim milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter.

Fruit with nut butter, protein shakes (haven't tried them myself but heard a lot about them), use full fat cheese or milk or yogurt instead of low fat, dark chocolate with nuts.

    Lots of not bad options.

Good advice above. I would add, try squeezing in a few more calories into each meal throughout the day. Little changes add up fast.

Sometimes I use peanut butter or an ounce of nuts (Emerald makes a cocoa roast almond that is pretty good). This is all it takes for me to hit my fat numbers but all I get are healthy fats and I'm only at 20% so if I go over sometimes I don't worry about it.

And I use Whey protein powder. I have a scoop in some skim milk in the morning and I do it again as an after dinner snack (yes I put 220 calories in my body an hour or so before bed and have dropped weight that night - did last night). This helps me get enough protein (I'm at 40%). I think the high protein (23g + 8g in the milk) kicks in the fat burning hormone while you sleep.

In fact I went from loss (1250 calories) to maintain (1480 calories) 2 weeks ago and have dropped 1.4 pounds since then.
