I drink too much water, SO what else can I drink

I seem to just be a drinker. I drink 10-15 bottles of water a day. ( 16oz ones) and I know there is such a thing is overdose on water.
So, what else can I drink.
I treat myself with 8oz of sprite each day and a 8oz boost protein each morning.
* I DONT like coffee, I do not do caffeine anymore, and I could use a drink with some calories in it since I am always short 400-600 calories each day under my needed calories.

drink some gatorade. Your right though to much water isnt good because there is no elecrolytes. If your drinking that much throw in some gatorade through out the day0

There is a danger of water overdose if you drink a very large amount at one time. I dont think that the amount you are drinking is too much, I drink about a gallon a day. Try some green tea sweetened with equal. V8 juice will give you some calories and nutrition as well.0

I don't think you can drink TOO much water. If you like drinking water, then drink it up! If you feel like adding in some gatorade or something, then do it...but don't do it just because you think you should. You could always add in a glass or two of milk if you are needing something to burn up some calories.0

v8 splash. Gives you fruit servings and tastes great!0

Or just make sure your water has electrolytes. If you can substain all that water ... or should i say if you DESIRE the water.. your body must feel a need for it. I stop at a gallon myself... its only 2:20pm and i and 3/4 of the way there... so i feel ya. i will sip on tea (green) until dinner. then finish my Gallon off... 32 oz.0

I think you would have to drink A LOT of water to all at once. I found this little article:
It's Not How Much You Drink, It's How Fast You Drink It!
The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.0 -
I found unsweeted almond milk - 35 to 40 cal / 8oz. depending on the brand. I was drinking soy milk at 100 cal / 8oz, and found this was a good alternative. It does take a few glasses to get used to, but now I drink it instead of cows milk and soy milk.0

Do NOT drink gatorade or powerade straight. Your body can't absorb the electrolytes properly in that condensed form. Water it down @ least half way!0 -
I'm pretty sure you can drink too much water, as long as it's not in a short period of time. Quick google search brought up this: http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm0

Boobee is correct. The problem is with forcing yourself to drink too much water in a very short period of time. If you are drinking throughout the day and pacing yourself, then water is the best thing for you to drink.
If you want something a little different, you can always add a splash of something to your water. One of my favorite tricks is to add about 1 teaspoon of regular Torani syrup to some homemade carbonated water in a tall glass with ice. About 2 tablespoons is the amount Torani recommends for the amount of water I use, just to give you the idea. Comes in a variety of flavors, turns the water pretty colors (quite appealing, visually), and adds some variety without adding caffeine, artificial sweeteners, or significant calories to my diet. I like the mandarin orange, cherry and berry flavors the best. You could do the same thing with regular water if you wished, that would also be delicious.0 -
Have you tried tea?0

hhmmm.. what about a homemade slushie sorta thing?? Puree some frozen fruit and some ice, add a little water if its too thick.0

There is a danger. Research it. plus I learned this from a great Head Chef in Atlanta.
You are suppose to only drink half your weight in water each day.
example you weigh 200 pounds, u need 100 oz of water a day
I am drinking some day almost 300oz of water..0 -

@jenncombs79 Did you even read this? Unless you're drinking it ALL at once you're fine. Your body is 70% water, water is good for it.0 -
i do have G2 here and I might drink one after a hard burn but really dont care for the taste
I use to be HUGE tea fan but b/c I am cutting out sugar as much as I can , I am trying to stay away from it.
I will try the V8 , I could use the veggie and fruits.
I have downed 2 or 3 bottles at a time but I try not to.
I think since I use to be a huge drunk drinker I just have the urge to down liquid fast.
Im thinking of adding maybe whey protein powder to some liquid but not sure what at this point0 -
Sobe, or lifewater electrolytes but not sugar like gatorade.0

Candlegal is right. SoBe Lifewater is good and a nice treat from regular water but full of vitamins and antioxidants. Just read the label because some have sugar. Others are calorie and sugar free.0

Great post - this is exactly right... as long as you spread the water out, you can drink a very large amount over the course of a day! The only exceptions (for adults) are marathon runners and other similar exercise-situations, because when doing such lengthy, intense exercise the kidneys slow down the rate at which they process water and you have to be more careful to make sure you maintain the property water/sodium balance. That said, most people are never in such a situation and simply have to make sure they're not drinking a TON all at one time.0 -
I try and throw a slimfast or some kind of drink like that in a day just because it has calories and also has vitamins.0
-
yeah, you're not even close to being in danger. Drink away.0

Have you ever been checked for diabetes?
Excessive water consumption can be a symptom. I don't mean to scare you or anything, but it might be worth checking out.0 -
I would see your physician to be checked for diabeties. A prime symptom is excessive thirst and the desire to drink large quantities of water.0

I have extreme low blood sugar , so that is not it.
I had gastric bypass 6 years ago and I have no current health issue besides being 50 pounds over weight0 -

I don't drink coffee, and pretty much stick to water, naturally flavored seltzer and unsweetened iced tea... but occasionally I treat myself to a Starbuck Steamer - it's just steamed skim milk and you can add a flavor shot (sugar free or not). I usually get a skim milk steamer with a vanilla shot, and then sprinkle some cocoa on it!!!0

You can drink at least a gallon a day with no problem, especially if you workout which is more than 90 ounces. You dont need tea or anything else really to survive but you NEED water. If you lived 1000 years ago all you would be drinking is water. Your body is made of 70% water and like i said before, unless you drink it all at once, you have no chance of getting hurt from water.
Not to mention sweating, tears, peeing, all of that is water your loosing throughout the day that needs replentished. At this girls rate she has no chance of damage from drinking water all day.0 -

Please cite your source for this. There are lots of sources that claim otherwise, that normal, healthy adults won't see this unless they are working out to the extreme. For example: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/146397/water_intoxication_how_much_water_is.html
This site claims
"Healthy adult kidneys are capable of processing 15 liters of water or almost 4 U.S. gallons, per day, if one drinks the water in small quantities spread throughout the entire day.
It is not advisable, however, to drink 15 liters of water daily over a long period."
So if we are talking about 2 gallons of water or less, in a healthy individual who is NOT running marathons, and is spacing that water out over the course of the day, water intoxication is not a risk.0 -

Although I have said I think drinking that much water shouldnt be a problem, it does seem like awful lot of water your drinking. I mean are you sure its 10-15 16oz bottles? Thats like 30 liters of water. It almost seems like how can you even fit that much in your day. You must be in the bathroom every 5 minutes.0
