can you bring resistance bands to your work and use them while sitting at your desk? you can do a lot of different moves with them and they pack away easily.

Great question! I've asking all my friends. It didn't occur to me to ask here.

Is there a website or anything that can show me the moves?

i know that if you order them online from GoFit.net most of their stuff comes with free dvds so they show you moves for the equipment. and some of the stuff from walmart that is in the workout section comes with dvds. the golds gyms is worth looking at, but go to the store to look at it. i have a few sets, a GoFit and a golds gym resistance band set and a golds gym mma set up. id sugest the GoFit stuff. check the website out if you have some time.

and yes, i know what i have just done is aggainst the rules of posting, supporting other websites and retail stuff. but honestly, im not pushing and i dont work for them.

Good Luck Juliane_. Take a look at that site and if you still have any questions message me.

try these two, they have some moves, but im sure that youll be able to find ways to do then in a chair, or hope up from time to time to knock them out.

If you can get up from your desk and have the room burpees are amazing exercises as I various body weight squats. I used to set an alarm on my computer that would go off every hour or two and take 2 minutes to do one of them, but I had the room and the freedom to get out of my chair and take those 2 minutes every couple of hours.

you start from a standing position, squat down, place your hands on the ground, jump your feet back behind you, bring them back to between your hands, then jump into the air. thats 1.

its true that these are great for burning calories, as are any version of a squat. but if you have to be dressed nicely for work they might not be the best option.

True, but they would probably get used to it. The truckers I know seem to be able to get used to pretty much anything, I guess because of all the strange people on the road.

hahahaha very true... i only work with like two other people in the office and half the time they aren't here so it's allll good!
  • I have a desk job, but during my daily break I take 15 minutes and walk around my office building. Fast enough to notice, but not fast enough to break a real sweat. It's good for 90 or so calories.

    Bump!
Are there ab exercises you can do in a chair?

You could try vacuums. That is when you pull you abs in (suck in your gut) and hold for say 15 to 30 seconds, then release. Repeat that for 10 or so repetitions and you will feel your ab muscles work. I used to do them years ago, and your question reminded me of them.
