Hahah have you found the dreaded anchovies? Put me right off too. Can i recommend Henderson's relish? it's like that, but way nicer and importantly fishy-free!

PS don't know where you are, but their site is here: http://www.hendersonsrelish.com/

PPS I can never make a link work on here, sorry.

There are anchovies in some versions. Are you a vegetarian?

LOL anchovies. How long have you been eating this and not know they are in there?!?!?! It still tasted good didnt it? Sheesh. Sodium... yep... its salty. lol... Because of the anchovies...

Sometimes its a trade off. i do find it funny that they use a fish to make things taste more "beefy". Talk about an oxymoron! Emphasis on moron. lmbo.

I hate seafood of all kinds -- shrimp, fish, lobster, everything -- but I still looove Worcestershire sauce! And if you get a "real" Caesar salad, there is anchovy in that, too!
  • remember that different brands are made different ways.
the one I have in front of me (Lea & Perrins) has HFCS
in it (disappointing) but obviously not a ton of it:

    Serving Size 1tsp (5ml)
    Calories 5
    Total fat 0
    Total Carb 1g (sugars)

ingredients: vinegar, molasses, HFCS, anchovies, water
onions, salt, garlic, tammarind concentrate, cloves, natural
    flavorings, chili pepper extract.

Now, for ME all of the sugars and expecially the HFCS are
a problem, BUT you can see that they are not a huge percentage
because 1 teaspoon of it goes a long way, and only has 1 carb,
AND since they do not list fractional carbs on labeling generally,
that 1 carb could really be .5 of a carb or .7 or even .3..... so all you
know is less than or equal to 1g.

As COMMERCIAL meat sauces go, this is about the best health
wise that I have found - so what's the problem that you have with it?

We have yet to hear for the reason for the epic NOOOOOO..
I am bemused. Of course it's a sodium bomb but as a person who uses Fish sauce... I find this hilarious :P

I never knew there were anchovies in there! I love worchester sauce. Eh, I found out they were in Ken's Cesaer dressing...or Newman's own....can't remember. I'll still eat it.

Understand being upset by the sodium, but I'm a capers/anchovy/lemon fan. A little pasta in a light tangy sauce like that is right up my alley. :)

Does the fact that you find out something delicious is made with something utterly taboo, make it any less delicious? I'd eat a human if it was cooked right. I hear people taste like pork, because we eat like pigs. Cannibals said so.

Ever had the fish sauce at say, a Vietnamese or Thai restaurant? I've seen a lot of people grab it thinking it was soy sauce.

It's quite a process they use to make it. They throw some fish in a box with salt and let it ferment then squeeze the juice out lol

eh, doesn't bother me...if Horsey sauce from Arby's was made with horse, I'd still eat it too...

I am with the above poster, if human was cooked right, I would try it...but, I don't eat pork....or most shellfish...or (you get the point)

But, I make a mean stir-fry. including the use of fish sauce....

Ooh.. Stir-fried human flesh. With some black bean sauce, a bit of hoisin, red and green peppers, baby corn, water chestnuts, cashews, broccoli, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms. Mmmm...

The "other" other white meat? I'd guess it would be roughly the same estimate as pork. We're only 2 chromosomes away from pig DNA. Haha.

    Horse is actually pretty good.

Never consumed a human, but you never know what will happen. If it ever came to that, I would like to pick my own human, because some people are just seriously too skanky for me to want to eat them.

I would probably pic the ones that shop at the whole foods market for the healthiest options.
