Belly roll yeast infections...

So, I've had these in the past but I wanted to see who else is having a problem as they lose weight, with yeast infections under flabby skin, belly buttons, etc. I went to the doc today for my tailbone but while I was there had them take a look at my belly button that had become red and itchy. The doc said it was a yeast infection and gave me some medication/ointment to take care of it. I've had the same thing happen under my belly roll too. Gives off a really yucky smell and is painful.
I didn't know a belly button could roll over the top of itself! LOL! I didn't even notice until I itched there and realized it was red and icky!

Very common! Most over the count yeast medications will help!0

I have never heard of that, but then again, I don't get out much. Is the cream the same stuff you would use for *ahem* other areas that may be affected by yeast infections?0

I love that as I am reading this there is an ad for Monistat on the top of my page!0

lol mine too!
I think it picks words and uses appropriate ads. That is funny though.0 -
Hi! It is common, people can get it anywhere it is warm, wet (like from sweat) and dark. Loves to grow there! Any folds or crevices. Monistat works wonders, or as stanvoodoo said, any otc (over the counter) generic would work! Congrads on your weight loss, gives me hope!0

LOL! The doc gave me...LMBO...Miconazole for jock itch! What the! I just looked at it! Oh my gosh!0

i had a yeast infection in just one arm pit. odd that when I went to the doctor for it that it was just under one arm. he also gave me so ointment that cleared it right up.0

note... u know to keep that info documented really well and after u loose all your weight, your insurance company may pay for a tummy tuck to reduce the infections.
when I lost all my weight I did this0 -

LMAO! Me too... :bigsmile:0 -
I had one in my armpits. It went away as soon as I lost 25 pounds. Before that I had read online that you can use the same stuff they use for athletes feet to treat yeast infections of the skin.0

You can purchase miconizole powder over the counter. Make sure you dry off very good after showering/ bathing and dust onto the affected areas. I used to work as a home health aide and I know those infections can get really nasty.0

first i have to say to the original poster that you are brave to type about this ... ive had that problem since ive had 3 c-sections and that flab is annoying and I use summer's eve powder to help keep that area dry ~ .... although never had an infection but a tummy tuck would be nice though0

Yes. I've been told I can get a tummy tuck after I lose my weight. Looking forward to getting rid of this roll! Thanks!0

How did it go? Were you satisfied? I heard it was really painful afterward. How bad are the scars?0

Thank you!0

A yeast infection is a yeast infection, whether it be "down there" in the form of jock itch or a V-Jay Jay infection, athletes foot, thrush in the mouth, or a yeast infection on the skin. Miconozole is the most used over the counter medication used to treat them. Nystatin is the most used prescription medication used to treat them.0 -
Thanks! I have no vanity on this site because we're all in the same boat (well, most of us)! LOL! I've had two c-sections myself and a huge roll left over as a result but it's worse since I've lost so much weight, and I didn't even notice my belly button had disappeared in the roll! LOL!0

well when I had my tummy tuck done I did a whole head to toe Mommy makeover
I have my breast lifted and had implants put in, I had a full tummy tuck ( 15lbs skin removed) and lipo to my love handles and back
I was in the hospital for 3 days, and I had two drainage tubes one in each hip for two weeks. I slept in the recliner. my hubby had to bath me every day b/c u cant stand up straight, u cant reach ur hair to wash it b/c the tubes in u will pull and it hurts like hell
I had this done in may 07... I lost another 15 pounds once the swelling went down. I have a flat tummy now even with the fact I have gained some weight since then. My scar is faded and it runs right along my tummy wear undies go so unless Im totally naked u dont even see it.
I would do it again anyday..
however have at least 4-6 weeks to recover0 -
Thanks for the info! It's good to know what to expect! I'm having mine done sometime at the end of the year I believe. I wish I could have the full body lift; legs, tummy, breasts, arms, etc.0

I get the same thing under my belly roll and my mom gave me a wound care cream that reminds me of desitin, that clears it right up too as well as repels any moisture! :blushing:0

my husband and i both have battled this. I find that if i stick a paper towel in my bra to be between my boobs i wont get a yeast infection there. Otherwise i will... i have big breasts and wearing a sports bra with exercising etc holds in moisture and there is friction. A paper towel bunched up keeps it away. I wish i could stick a piece of paper towel under my belly roll and have that keep the yeast away there too lol but so far i haven't figured out a way to keep the paper towel put. My under arm yeast infections quit after getting rid of white refined sugar in my diet0

LMBO....same thing here!0 -
When I was pregnant my hurse told me to have a salt water bath, if I felt that I may be having that problem. Now, I occaisionally add salt to my bath just to stave off any growing yeast issues. Works well.0

Hahaha! I know a cure for unwanted ads...Firefox
I have found that taking a good probiotic helps me. Staying away from sugar will help too!0 -
My dr always told me to take th blowdryer to that area after a shower to prevent that.0

I was thinking that too. I had heard that. Can't say I would want the yeast infections, but if you cant' avoid them, free tummy tuck is a good enough reason.0
