Awesome Alf!!! I think you've been trying to lose these last lbs since I started on here, no? You must be looking pretty hot!!!

Thanks for staring the post - I had to go into work early this morning (I only work part time from home, and almost never have to leave the house in the mornings). I got in a quick run, but I didn't weigh in! I was so busy with getting the kids dressed, and having to leave early, that I just forgot. Tomorrow I will do it!
    :flowerforyou:

Congrats to all the Shredding success!

I am not down any inches, but I feel so much more firm-and hey where did all the cellulite go!!? I am pleased with the results so far! Keep up the great work everyone!

I must confess ...... I took Sunday off from Shredding - I had a huge test to study for and didn't do too much of anything that day. But today after I got home I did Level 2 again.

I'll check my weight in the morning and post again .......

    Great job everyone!! :drinker:
  • OOOOOOOOOOOH! What's the "Shred challenge"? Does it involve cheese   ?

Yes, the challenge is to see who can eat the most shredded cheese everyday   We are doing the 30 day shred workout DVD by Jillian Michaels. There are three separate workouts each about 25 minutes long. It is a circuit training type of workout. Check it out!!! Some people are going to continue doing in Oct and others will join then. :flowerforyou:
  • Cool! Thank you!I'll check it out!

I started here in January. By the time I started I had already lost a few pounds. My starting weight on Jan 1 was 148lbs. I wanted to get to at least 135lbs but ideally to 130lbs. Well, as of this morning I weighed 125.5. I really don't want to keep losing so starting in Oct, I will change my goals to maintenance. I am already eating anywhere from 1450-1900 calories depending on the amount of exercise I do. I am really happy with the way I look now. I am having tons of fun buying new clothes or just trying on cute clothes at the stores even if I don't buy them. :flowerforyou:

Alf - you are my inspiration!!! I personally think it is MUCH harder to lose the last 10lbs than it was for me to lose the first 30! You prove that it can be done!

I weighed in this morning ..... same as last week ...... 135.

I also woke up with some MAJOR knee pain!!!! :grumble: I did level 2 yesterday - my knee was sore during it but it didn't hurt ..... and then this morning ..... WOW!!! So I put an ice pack on it for 15 minutes, I will take some Aleve when I eat breakfast and I'm going to stop by and see the Physical Therapist that I work with and have her take a look at it before I go to school.

Needless to say .... I did not Shred this morning ..... I really wanted to and I'm in that "mad" stage because my knee hurts. :explode: I did my pilates DVD instead (mostly abs). This afternoon I'll try the Elliptical - it might put less stress on my knee.

Have a great day, everyone!! :flowerforyou:

I did levels 1 and 3 this morning. Burned 363 cals.

Momandwife: Take care of that knee. If you need to take a few days off that is better than injuring it ever further...ouch!! :grumble:

Amanda: I hope you get better soon. :flowerforyou:

Where is everyone else??? I hope everyone is ok. Doing shred every day is very tough, I never thought it was a good idea. Your muscles and joints need at least a day to rest if you are going to do the same thing. Have a great day!!! :flowerforyou:
  • haha guess what I found!!!

Comcast OnDemand has Shred lvl1 AND lvl2 on Exercise TV!!! I'm sooo excited! :) I'm going to try lvl one tonight! :)

Thanks for the concern, alf!! I stopped by the PT clinic (where I work) - she thinks that it is a tendonitis of the quadriceps muscle where it attaches to the tibia. It is tender to touch and hurts when bending it and when straightening it but once I'm to the full motion it's fine (just the movement is when it hurts). Weight bearing does not hurt it (thank goodness!!) We put a patch on it with an anti-inflammatory (Hybresis with Dexamethasone) directly to that area and it really helped. I'm planning on icing it again and keep taking Aleve. I'll probably take a couple days off from the Shred and do some lower impact stuff - I definitely DO NOT want to backslide!!!!!!!

Amanda ..... feel better soon!!! Vitamin C, water and rest, girlfriend!!!! :flowerforyou:

How is everyone??? I know two of you are injured/ill but where are the rest??? I just noticed no one has posted in 2 days!! I rested yesterday. I did levels 2 and 3 today. My last day shredding will be on Saturday. I am starting a new workout next week. Have a great day!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Hello ladies,

So I was just curious...are you supposed to do the workouts every day? Or is it 30 days of working out...not workout everyday for a month?

Just curious. I'm going to try it for the first time tonight. :)

I have done it everyday except 2x, I think everyone is different with how they are doing it. Some amazing ladies are doing 2 levels in 1 day!!!! Not me....I do one level a day. It gets easier each time you do it! HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK!!!!:flowerforyou:

I am back!!! My knee is feeling MUCH better - I rested it for 2 days - ice and Aleve. It was weird though - I felt soooo guilty about not doing the Shred!! I did do pilates those two days which definitely does not burn as many calories and since I am addicted to weighing myself I was up a pound this morning.

I did do Level 1 this morning and it felt fine on my knee - I iced afterward just in case though.

Back in Action!!!! Love It!!! :drinker:

Congrats to all you ladies who are working so hard!!!!

I fell off the wagon, and have been run over...

I felt sick earlier in the week, and have not worked out once since Sunday! Argh! I've over done the calories, and really over did it last night. I can't even bring myself to get on the scale - I think I will wait a week (of good eating and good working out) and then see where I am!

Have a great day and weekend ladies!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All three levels!!!! 630 calories!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: Oh boy, it was tough but I am proud to say I did it. So, this is it for me!!! It has been a great challenge. I am formulating my plan for October. I might post my weight tomorrow or on Oct 1st when I start a new program/plan.

I am dissapointed to see that this group has gotten so small. I think there are only a few of us now. How are you doing???? No one has posted since Friday.

    Good luck ladies!!!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    Hi Alf,

I'm here girl!!! Who else lasted the whole 4 weeks? I've been pretty sick, so I have to say that I have not worked out since last Sunday. :ohwell: I've been in pretty rough shape though, and can't wait to weigh in because my appetite has been down (but we all know that is never permanent weight lost though, right!?).

What is your plan for October? I was thinking of posting an A.M. / P.M. challenge - which is really simple - exercise in the A.M. (strength and/or cardio) and then finish eating four hours before bed, and do some light exercise in the evening (crunches, push ups, stretching) etc! That's it. I'm going to make that my October challenge for myself!

Take care and keep up the great work! You continue to inspire me!

Shall we start a new challenge for October? Everyone with a personal goal? Am I the only one left with actual poundage to lose?

Amanda, you are a sweetheart!! I really hope you get better soon and can resume your workouts. Yes, I might have reached my goal but it is not over. Now, the hardest part starts and that is to maintain the weight for life!!!!!

My plan for October is to start heavy lifting again twice a week, Tue and Thu. I am hoping to make it to the gym on those days but if I don't I have a lot of equipment at home. It is more "fun" and challenging at the gym though...The rest of the days a variety of cardio with at least one day of no exercise at all.

I will definitely continue to eat well, count my calories (although I have been thinking about a little experiment lately  ) You know how I like to experiment and challenge myself. I am going to change my goal to maintenance tomorrow. I might not eat as much as it recommends first. I think I might "shock" my body with so much food  but I will increase accordingly.

    Take care!!!!
    Annette
  • I LOVE your goals!! WHat a GREAT idea!!! I have had the final goal (rocking it at my 20 year High School reunion next summer) but had not thought about the smaller in-between stage goals! I'm gonna set some today!
