So I found tonight that if I wear a sports bra over a normal bra, that it reduces bouncing a lot! Has anyone else found a way to reduce bouncing?

A very tight top. I got a breast reduction done about 4 months ago to help with this problem. Depending on the type of impact-exercise I'm doing, I wear a "regular" bra, and then a compression-type sports bra over that, then a workout top with a tight shelf-bra. Problem is, with all that compression, its sometimes tough to breathe. :frown:

When I'm just lifting weights or doing medium-impact cardio, I get away with a well-fitted "regular" bra, and the shelf-bra in my workout top. I'm currently a D cupsize.

I buy a very good sports bra that stops bouncing.

If I didn't there is no way I could run. Bouncing is downright painful.

I like the Maia bra from Moving Comfort. They work best for me. I am an E & I don't bounce. Some people like the Enell bras, which are also bounce free.

    THIS is the Enell

I believe Oprah likes them. They are available on enell.com and you can look there for somewhere near you.

    Here's the Moving Comfort page

And then Junonia has knock offs of those bras too. GL!

If you are in the UK I can recommend a couple of good brands for larger cups (I am the same size and know its a massive pain getting a good fit).

Freya are awesome. They specialise in larger cup sizes but still offer smaller back sizes I believe they go up to H cups. There are also Max Sports. Not quite as supportive but they look really good and could be used without having a shirt over the top. They are cheaper so I have quite a few of them.

Try 'less bounce' bras...they are fantastic. I used to bounce a lot and then when I trined for a marathon I ended up with cuts and scabs from chaffing where my bra starps were (even though I was wearing a sports bra). Less bounce saw me through it and I now own 3 of thier bras, woulnd't go back!

Less bounce are defo the best and it made me realise how rubblish my other so called professional sprots bras were.

I am a c cup by the way (except for one month a week when I am a D cup!) ;o)

  • Moving Comfort keeps me stable and doesn't kill my shoulders, either! Definitely recommend them. I'm a 40DD and I can do jumping jacks in it without feeling like my breasts are being ripped off my chest!

For any British women with the same concerns, I would recommend Marks and Spencers own-brand sports bras. They do a great job of keeping my DDs under control

I am a 42F.....HUGE....lmao....I usually wear a normal bra with a sports bra thats tight over it and it helps a lot but by no means are those suckers tied down!!! I still almost get knocked in the face when doing jumping jacks! I think its important too to have a sports bra that fits properly and is a lil tight fitting.....I have friends who wear them and they give little to no support at all and I wonder why the hell they are even wearing them!

I have 4 Lululemon "Ta Ta Tamer"s I started DD cup, and I'm now a D cup (hoping to be a C cup soon!)
I have run 3 half marathons in this bra and find it amazing!! I ran a 10k in a different sports bra and the pics are atrocious!! and I def didn't have enough support :( lesson learned :P

Really envious of lessbounce.com for UK people. What is the equivalent in the USA? Frey soft cup without underwire that keeps you up and not bouncing? I am totally envious. I checked for USA sites but none carry that particular bra...

I do not do any running or jogging for the simple reason that no one makes a sports bra that comes close to fitting me!
(size KK+ :blushing: :blushing: ) I'm only 36/38 at the back, even these the underwire doesn't actually sit on my chest its
    about 2" off it.

My Dad always used to tell me at least I could never fall flat on my face!
Now I worry about if I do actually loose eneough there to make a difference - how much further south of my chest will they end up!

Editing as I forgot to add:
if you are a larger lady in the UK, try Bravissimo.com - they also have some stores. It's the only place I can buy anything to fit me,
they also do swim wear, and are not too expensive.

I just discovered that an older (and smaller sports bra) worked better than my normal sized sports bra.. it was a much tighter fit (still could breathe but tight) ... nothing bounced!!!

Its been recommended (I asked a while ago on here too :) ) - to find a sports bra that has an additional tight covering over the bra ... better snugger fit!

    Good luck!

Go to www.title nine.com. They rate their sports bras based on support and are very favorably reviewed....

As a nice 36 E/F, it can be a bit difficult to find bras in my size. However I tend to go for a size smaller - one that doesn't squeeze the puppies to death but tightens then up nicely.

I also never go for anything lower than 'high impact', no matter what I'm doing.

The already mentioned M&S own brand is great, as are Shock Absorbers. (my choice 90% of the time) Besides, my SA bra has nice loops to put my HRM strap through. :)

A little update for UK ladies,

I managed to purchase a sports bra for my chunky monkeys last night from Bravissimo.
They now have a sports bra up to K size in 36 back
highest back size they do in 40 and in that largest cup size is J

£30 well spent, I managed to do the jumping jacks on 30day shred which were impossible the night before!

LOL this is exactly what I have been doing in the gym since I had a baby! They need STRAPPING UP! Definitely wearing a tight top to work out in helps as well.

Hahaha aren't google adds clever! As we speak, there's a Figleaves.com ad on my screen.

I (Ireland) usually buy from figleaves or bravissimo. Will be reading this thread for some advice also, I was a cup G up until now, but they've shrunk (yay), need to get myself measured first and then I'll be ordering a good sports bra myself
