Hey Tam,
Do you have any "before" pictures? It's so hard to imagine you 108 pounds heavier then you are in your current pictures!!0 -
your story did boost m up as wel.....how many cals do u eat per day.and what all exercises do u do
Well, right now, on non-gym days, I eat around 1400 cals. (That is Mon, Wed and Fri).
On gym days (Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun), I have worked up to burning around 1000-1100 cals each time, and I will eat at LEAST 1800-1900 cals on those days. Sometimes more.
Keep going girl!!!!0 -

Could you bump it again sweetie? I can't find it and I too cannot believe you've lost an entire person!!0 -
Anyway, the key is not letting that one mistake completely derail you. It's not ONE meal that made you overweight. It's learning to not let that meal take over your life and lead you to unhealthier ways.
I love this comment. It's not one meal, it's one month of meals, or one year of meals or one lifetime of meals that put us where we are today. I'm a firm believer that if you deny a craving it will just get worse and worse. Moderation of course is the key, but it's good to indulge every once in a while.
Thank you for your story Tami!0 -
Wow, Tami, reading your story just gave me the little "kick in the pants" that I needed. It can be done!
I don't know you but I am proud of you. I cannot imagine the strength of will needed to lose that amount of weight. Kinda makes the 20 lbs. I have left to lose look "puny" by comparison...but I WILL do it!
You are an inspiration to a lot of people. Rock on!:drinker:0 -

Bumping for some newbies.
Obviously I am down more now........128 to be exact and am about 7 lbs away from my goal.
All I can add is that it took me 34 years ( and yo-yo dieting through my 20's) to get to the point that I am at now. Those failed attempts helped to educate me and helped to instill in me the understanding that this HAS to be done a certain way. The slow, healthy, lifestyle changing way, to work for good. I used to pretend that wasn't the way. That I could lose weight with starving or diet pills and be fine. But it just won't work for long term. I still pray every single day that I will continue to have the will to not only keep going to reach my goal but also to keep the weight off.
Work on changing your relationship with food. That will be the biggest tool in your success.
Take care guys!!

Tami has taught me that is ok to eat things like rolls and still lose. She has taught me that no matter what life throws at me that I can handle it without the comfort of food. She has helped reinforce the tools that this site has given me. When I have an emergency and end up at Chilis instead of Fridays, she helps me off the ledge and points me in the direction to the guiltless grilled chicken. Tami, Tami, you are so fine, Tami Tami, so glad you're mine.
yada yada yada, sish coom bah......
Thank you.

My grandmother (my moms mom) died at age 49 and my own mother died at 50 (in 2000).
There is too much life to live and I want to enjoy every minute, especially for my little boy and his future family.
My father's failing health is a huge reason for this serious lifestyle change. And I want to be here for my kids as long as I can. I am so happy for you success and I look forward to my journey down this road. :bigsmile:0
