What do you do to stay motivated?

I am just asking for additional ideas. I get on these really motivated spurts followed by periods of apathy. I find that telling my hubby I am going to excercise after he gets home from work helps...but sometimes not enough. Besides, someone might have a brilliant idea we all want to share!

I got myself a pandora bracelet. Every 10 pounds I lose I get a new bead :P Pushing myself cuz the bracelet is so boring :P
Also, I got myself a cheap knock off pandora bracelet, and plan on getting cheap knockoff beads. So cheap enough too. Paid like 3 bucks for the bracelet, and beads are usually 1 buck a piece on ebay0 -
I remind myself daily that I want to live longer and healthier and eventually have my own kids.... I also want to be smoking hot and make all of girls jealous :-D
this weight loss is for me to live better both physically and mentally...you only get one body....treat it like a palace and not an outhouse....0 -

Me too! I also look at fitness sites, like Self, Shape, Jillian Michaels, etc. etc. Seeing other motivated, healthy people inspires me to get moving too.0 -

The full length mirror does it for me. When I went off track I noticed that I was rarely looking at myself in that mirror. When I am losing I am checking it morning and night. Also, doing more, better, faster in my workouts is very motivating.0

The changes in my body. I've lost 27.5 lbs since Jan, and I can really see it, My clothes are to big, Im strenght training and I can really feel my muscles growing, and when doing cardio Im having to really push myself to raise my heart rate into to cardio section and my recovery time is much improved.
All these things are just going to keep getting better. I feel great since making the changes and this keeps me motivated0 -
Hi! I have a photo of what I will look like when I reach my goal on my desk so I see it everyday. Place reminders where you see them and they will push you to keep going. Also having a buddy to help you along is great. I dont know how I would do it without my gym buddy!0

I genuinely enjoy training and would feel deprived if I couldn't exercise, so in a way I need no extrinsic motivation cos I simply love training.
The best thing to stay motivated is to find something you really enjoy, otherwise exercise will never be anything other than a means to an end and you'll always be looking for factors to coax you back into "being motivated".0 -
I watch the Biggest Loser and look at the abilities of these people (that are severely over weight) and the strength that they have in both mind and body. I know I never want to be in that position and I have to make that decision every day. I love find new yummy foods and combinations that are good for me. I read SELF, Women's Health, and Clean Eating Magazine. I have a list of goals and I love how my clothes are fitting better and I am very proud of myself. I'm becoming a gym junkie because I love the way I feel after a good work out and I feel bad (not guilty) on the days that I can't make it. I really try to find something else to do to get a little burn in. I walk, I take the stairs and I focus on food. I love food and I realized that different foods make me happy now. I used to eat a candy bar every day. Now just a few bites doesn't even taste very good and I'd rather have other things that are better for me. Just believe in yourself and don't worry or think about it, just do it. You'll feel better afterwards. If you get tired mid work out remember that its the 20 min mark that starts the fat burn so that part will always feel tougher, just keep moving through it even if its a little slower than the rest of the time and work your way up after that.0

I literally get up in the morning and get my workout clothes on....a total game changer for me. Esp since I've been able to buy some cute stuff lately! I feel pretty and strong, and that gets my blood pumping. The whole family responds that kind of energy!
I also GET OUT OF THE HOUSE with the family! If I can't get straight to the gym, I at least, run some errands.....anything that'll prevent me from sitting in front of the tv.
Most of my motivators come from planning...I don't lend myself any excuses, so the fridge & cupboards are stocked with good choices way ahead time0
