Does anyone have a picture of the bread when finished? Mine looks like it didn't rise enough the second time. Not sure why. Looks like a little fat baguette.

Btw, I calculated 51 cals per slice...

I don't know what I did wrong; normally bread works out great for me, but this did NOT work. The loaves were so tiny I should have just put all the dough in one normal sized bread pan, because they ended up less than an inch high each and super dense. I don't know if I dare even try to eat them--what a waste of flour and yeast.

I even added ginger to intensify the yeast because whole wheat flour doesn't rise as well. Nothing.

Came across this thread today hoping to find a low cal bread recipe.

I made this recipe today and the bread was really nice, but I couldn't get it anywhere near the 60 calories it claims. Also, it definitely only makes one loaf (and it was a small loaf at that).

My ingredient's calories were as follows:

    1 1/4 cup water - 0 calories
    1 pkt of yeast - 18 calories
1 tsp sugar - 24 calories - I tried just using xylitol to save some calories, but the yeast just wasn't frothing
    3/4 tsp salt - 0 calories
3 1/2 cup wholemeal flour - 1523 calories (needed more flour as the mixture was too sticky)
1565 calories - divide that by 12 (and I did get 12 slices from the loaf)

That gives a grand total of approx 130 calories per slice.

I would REALLY love to know where I went wrong so I can get the 60 calories per slice!!
