Calories to lose 2 pounds a week

1200

Calories for exclusive breastfeeding 7 month old

400

Exercise 3-5 times a week

400-500 per workout

SO I am thinking a consumption of 1700 calories would get me losing without eating too little. Is this correct? Trying to keep my net at 1200 after exercise. I know breastfeeding messes it up a little but I have lost a lot of weight while breastfeeding before and did not have a dip in milk production.

Just keep an eye on your milk supply... kellymom.com is a great resource and I think (It's been a while since my youngest is 18 months and only nursing 1-2 times a day) it's recommended that while nursing your net calories should be at least 1500.
  • I am also in that same boat and have wonderful success with eating between 1500-2000 calories a day. I make sure I have low days and high days. I burn around 1000 calories at least 3 times a week. I workout for a minimum of 6 days. In 3 months I have lost 30 lbs. Good luck to you!!! Water Water Water! will help with the milk supply but remember that too much water can be bad for supply too :)
