What she said. We all start somewhere but just keep this in mind: where you start isn't important; where you finish is. Don't finish this until you've achieved your goals man. We're all behind you!!

I was close! let me tell you thats scary! i used to joke with my friends and tell them that if i ever hit 300 i'd off myself for the sake of the community. let me tell you... i flew past that with flying colors and suddenly i realized just how far off i was. thank god it was a joke and seriously glad i foundMFP.

Started at 390, now at 337, so no longer over 350, but I can DEFINITELY empathasize with you. I've been there..... I know what you're feeling. But don't give up. If you log everything and start working out even 5-10 min walks per day, you can build up your strength and endurance.

On the plus side.... you and I burn our calories much faster than the thin folks that only need to lose 10-20 lbs. Just get your mind set, and you'll be surprised at the progress you can achieve.

I've just been where you're at. I went back to audit some classes and was weighted in at 406 and this is after going through some terrible depression. Believe me I want to give up EVERY DAY but don't cause I know I will succeed. Take it day by day, and if you give in to a craving just remember it's not the end of the world, you CAN do this. The hardest thing to say and believe in is..YOU ARE WORTH IT....YOU ARE WORTH LIVING.....YOU DESEREVE TO BE HAPPY.

Remember to laugh alot and to get rid of ALL negetive people/things in your life, that was my hardest thing to do.

I also started at 370 back at the end of January. I was shocked, because I have never weighed close to that much before, I use to play College football, and use to be 319 back then. I had to make some drastic changes, and with those have come a 39 lb weight loss in about 7 weeks. It can be done, just takes dedication. I plan on losing 120 when I am all done. Good luck to you, stay positive, you can do it.

I started at 385. Like you I went by docs last weigh in back in November.... before holidays! And I didnt start until February. Holiday eating... I was probably way past that and feeling like death was closing in.

Im one month in and 365 lbs now. I RUN. Thats right. I walk a mile every morning and for half that I run now..... You CAN do anything you put your mind to.

Quitting wont take the weight off my friend. You will just gain more. So please, reconsider, and dig your heels in harder.

We can't quit you- so please don't quit us!

There's always going to be a reason to give up....what you have to find is a reason NOT to.

I'm certain that we were ALL DEVASTATED when we first weighed ourselves once we decided that we FINALLY want to do something about it! It's a hard reality to face and then we tend to beat ourselves over how we let ourselves go for so long and wonder how could I do this to myself?! We may have even been in denial for along time thinking we were actually smaller than we really were or maybe we just didn't care and didn't bother to weigh ourselves because we were scared of what we would have to face. It took me many years to finally get to the point where I was tired of being fat and wasting away my life. I beat myself up everyday thinking "How colud Iet myself gain so much weight and get to this point"?! Now i have x amount of pounds to lose!

Now, you have made the decision to start taking care of yourself and are trying to eat better and get healthier, that is ALL that matters, that you are finally standing your ground and doing something about it. Let the past be the past , it's over and done with and no matter how much damaged we have caused ourselves and our bodies, it can be turned around and fixed. Sure sometimes you might feel like whats the use, I'll never lose this weight or it's going to take me forever to lose it, why bother?! We have all felt like that and are mad at ourselves for losing all control. You already know that we didn't get to where we are over night, and it's not going to be an overnight fix, of course, we all wish it was that easy!

This is going to take time to undo all the damage done but let it be in the past, whats done is done. You are here getting help for yourself as we all are and and that is a great step to take. Your staying on plan and that is what matters.
Everyday is a new day to refocus and keep moving forward. I know it hurts to see the reality of it but you are now doing something about it, be proud of yourself for taking that step, a step closer to whom you want to become. We all have our doubts at time and it can be trying but before you know it, 4 months will have past and you will have lost weight providing you stick with your plan and you will be so proud of yourself and feel so much better for your accomplishments! Hang in there and just know that you are not alone, we have all been there. It can only get better from here if you work it! ((Hugs))

Never give up on trying to be healthy! I am the type of person that will support you through thick and thin. I truly care about your progress and happiness. I am sure everyone on here feels the same. Saying that I wouldn't be a good friend if I didn't ask what happened? I also wouldn't be a good one by enabling you and ignoring that something is wrong. I don't know if I will get crap for saying that but personally, I have had a ton of people in my life that never told me the truth and never asked me to take accountability for myself. I cant do that to someone else. I will be straight up with you.
I have been following your progress for a while now and it seems your doing the right things. I feel sad when I see people who try so hard and get little to no results. That is when you need to look at your diet, possible health issues and activities with a fine tooth comb. It can be something as simple as salt intake to a metabolic issue. Sometimes dieting is a war and you need troops on your side. I am willing to help you in any way I can. Let me know and I will do it. I would love to see accomplish your goals. Don't give up!!!! We can help you get through this but you need to help yourself and find out what the issue is. I got nothing but <3.

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED......... I started this journey over a year ago at 368 pounds and got so frustrated so many times. One bit of advice. Not all scales are the same, use the same one each time for your weigh in. Just because the number is dropping DOES NOT mean things ain't changing with your body. My body shifted tings around before i started to notice numbers on the scale. Congrats on taking the first step and wish you the best on your journey.

I started about 355 about 3-4 years ago. I would lose and then not see a big enough difference and balloon back up. It wasnt until I found this site about a month ago that I felt that I had enough in me to change my life and get healthy. It is not gonna fall off over night. You have to make it a full time job. There is way too much support from these strangers that make you feel like you have known them forever. I love every one on this site and dont think I could do it without all my wonderful friends that I have met here. Remember...When you think about giving up, remember why you held on for so long to begin with. You want to lose weight and get healthy...YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! WE ALL CAN HELP!!!

Hi there. It's so easy to lose hope, easy to give up. I have experienced this myself many times. The only thing I would say to you is "Don't". Don't give up, don't lose hope. It's a long and difficult journey that you have ahead of you, but you WILL do it, one step, one pound at a time.
    Stay well, friend.

I joined this site in the middle of November 2010 - before the Thanksgiving Holiday weighing in at 424!!.
As I have traveled the road to "better health" between then and now I have felt very much alone most of the time.
I have stumbled, fallen and taken side-trails over the months, but I have not given up. I am just beginning to realize this is going to be a very LONG journey and I am going to need more support than I thought.

There are plenty “Over 350” My Fitness Pals out there. Please don’t give up on yourself. ((hugs))
