12 Weeks Till Summer Challenge (Starting 3/17/11)

I apologize for not checking in with the challenge thread over the weekend......I really do not have a strong preference for starting a new thread each week. I don't know that it will make that much difference to me, so either way, would be fine.
Second, I wanted to share a little bit of my weight loss "plan" for the rest of the challenge. I am cre-ommitting to my food journal! I missed that over the weekend!! I want to focus on nutrient dense foods, avoid processed things and increase my protein intake earlier in the day. I have Shakeology protein shakes and I am committing to drinking one EVERY DAY!!! Next, I am re-committing to my C25K walk/running plan. It is 3 days a week, totally doable and this time I won't hurt myself by trying to "over do it"!! I have severve tenditnitis in my elbow right now (which I did while trying to overdo the weight liffing with ChaLEAN Extreme!!!) so I need to focus on lower body, core and cardio.
My new mantra is "What do I need to do TODAY to be healthy??" I am trying to focus on the positive, one day at a time, and stop the negative self talk I have indulged in for years!!!
Thanks for listening!!!0 -

New thread. This one is waaayyyy toooo looonnnggg already.0
-
Yes - We should have a new thread for each weigh-in week. (New Thread)
No - We should stick to the same thread until it gets locked and are forced to make a new one. (Same Thread)
I vote yes for a new thread each week and specify the week (Week XX)0 -
Are we going to start a new thread each week this one is getting pretty long already?
Laurie
I vote yes, as long as a link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the last thread that is closing, so we know where to go and when.
I agree.
me too!0 -
I vote new thread too. That way the week's goal/challenge can be posted and no one misses it. If conversations need to be continued, we can continue them on the new week's thread. And I'm in another group that at the end of the week, the gal in charge posts the link so we all know where to go and don't have to go through all of the other motivational challenges. And you can always go to "My Topics" to find the challenge (if you have posted).
Jennifer
P.S. I am a serial weigher too! My weigh-in day has always been Thursday, so I'll keep that, but then I'll also check Monday to see how much damage was done over the weekend =(0 -
Yes, I vote for a new thread as well!0

A new thread each week should be easier to find.0

So far I'm seeing a lot more votes for a New Thread. When I post the updated chart tonight don't be surprised if it is on a new thread with a very similar name.
Of course i'll still keep track of the votes until it is time to post charts. Keep up the great work everybody!0 -

My vote is a new thread every week. You could post the link to the next week's thread in the previous thread so members dont get lost0 -

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Do not step on the scale more than twice this week.
Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen...this is going to be a tough one.
We all know that our weight fluctuates throughout the day and even over the week. Sometimes we get so caught up on weighing-in that we forget about that. Some of us might feel complelled to weigh ourselves all day every day and might get discouraged by what the scale says if it wasn't as good as it was the day before. Felicia mentioned earlier that she does weigh-ins for MFP on one day and weigh-ins for this challenge on another day. I do the same thing.
My challenge to you is to only weigh-in twice this week. I'll be weighing-in on Mondays (for MFP and another challenge I'm doing) and on Thursdays (for my Hot Mama's meetings and this challenge).
Also, I highly suggest weighing in at the same time under the same conditions.
Ex: First thing in the morning after using the bathroom.
BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL. Hope our first official challenge goes well.
Just saw this...Already got on the scale this morning so I guess that's 1 for me. My 2nd weigh in for the week will be Friday (my "official" weigh in day)0 -
I'm in a couple of other challenges, but I would like to participate in this one as well!

I think a new thread is a good idea, although it would be nice if you could link the new threads to the previous ones.
So I am guessing the new thread will be 11 Weeks Till Summer Challenge...LOL that would make it easier to follow, kind of like a count down to the goal weight we all have set :bigsmile:0 -
