Two meals a day...

Recently, I've only been eating at least two meals a day. I'm not hungry for anything else, I just drink water instead. They're not big meals either, only a normal sized dish. I feel like my stomach is getting smaller, which is good in one way, but it's so hard to adjust to it since I get these strange cravings in the wee hours of the night, cravings but no hunger.
Sometimes I add a third meal around 7pm or 9pm just to get passed my requirement of 1,200 calories for the day. I don't feel sick either, I'm just having a hard time adapting. Only a week ago I used to eat so much...

try drinking special k protien shakes. . they might help0

you shouldnt eat past 7pm because it wont set in your stomach and digest properly for when you sleep.
even if you are not hungry, always try to have a big breakfast full of fibre to help you through the day and try and have a decent size dinner full of protein and veges so even if your not hungry you will still get the food in you. In order for eating to help you lose weight, you should eat your last mean 4 hours before you goto sleep. and half an hour after you exercise to help everything inside stay strong.0 -

From what I've heard, we should all be eating 5-6 smaller meals rather than 3 bigger ones. That way, your blood sugar doesn't spike and drop off as much throughout the day.0

There is a lot of debate on the eating late thing....some swear you shouldn't....some say you can. I've read studies on both and I'm of the mind it really doesn't matter. But, that's just me....
As for eating throughout the day.
#1- Always eat a hearty breakfast. This can be really hard. 3 Months ago I never ate breakfast...I have had to MAKE myself do it...and it has paid off. It gets your metabolism going.
#2- Try to eat something small every 2 hours or so. This will help your metabolism function at it's peak and keep your body burning fat.
My guess is, the reason you aren't hungry is because your body has been shocked into a bit of a starvation mode because of the sudden change in your amount of food intake....you need to rev it up again. Feeling hungry is a good sign....0 -

Sorry, but have to disagree. Eating late does not hamper weight loss. I eat my evening snack within an hour or two before bed every night. - and know plenty of people who eat late and still lose and have no problems with digestion. As long as it is healthy foods and not junk food, it's not a problem.
However, eating regularly will help blood sugar levels stay stable, and help you make better choices. Breakfast is important, as it can influence other choices throughout the day. It will take time to retrain your body to eat healthy amounts of healthy food. You didn't learn poor eating habits overnight, and won't fix them overnight. Aim to meet your cal goal each day, and schedule meals frequently. Planning is key.0 -
If you are getting your calories, it probably isn't a big issue, but I suggest that you think about how you plan to live and eat long term.
I think it's better to get into a healthy pattern of regular meals that you will be able to keep up than an unusual eating plan that doesn't fit in with social events and becomes another habit to break later on.0 -
I have read many articles that eating late is not an issue! I always eat late, sometimes even at 3 am and I still lose weight reguardless, so that is really not a concern as far as losing weight goes! I am the queen of late night eating. LOL I pretty much sleep all day and do most of my eating at night because my schedule is all messed up, but it seems to be working for the most part. I have been doing it for 4 months and I have lost 53 pounds so far. Good luck!0

I agree with those who say eating late is not an issue. The only thing is that you don't go to bed with a full stomach. Having a snack 1-2 hours before bedtime is perfectly fine. This last snack should also be mainly protein based.
I also recommend that you eat smaller meals throughout the day. I understand that your work schedule may be in the way, but try packing food bars or a sandwich; anything that you can prepare ahead of time and eat at work. It will be much better for your digestive system and your metabolism.0 -
If you're not hungry, you're not hungry. There's no reason to force yourself to eat just to hit a certain calorie point. There's a lot of people here who advice cramming food down your throat, but just listen to your body.
I'm sure as soon as you get settled in with a routine your body will adjust to it, and you'll find yourself able to meet your goals.0
