So, to date I've lost 88.3 pounds since January 15, 2010. In the past almost 4 weeks, I've not been losing weight. I'm doing everything right. I have a BMF so I know exactly what I'm burning and I log all of my food in the BMF system so I know exactly what I'm eating.
I exercise 5 days a week and I keep my deficit between 800 and 1000 calories. My average burn is 2500 calories and I eat around 1500 calories, but the scale won't move!
I could use any tips or ideas...anyone who's broken through a pleateau or has firsthand experience getting the scale to move. Thanks!

Are you eating your exersise calories ? Are you drinking enough water? getting enough sleep?

This is just a part of it! please read the link above
Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle tone, and reducing fat. This means is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode)
Good luck on your journey0 -
Change things up. If you do the same exercises...change it...if you eat the same foods regularly change it.
The body adapts very efficiently to its environment. Even after having gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago...I have to watch it. Even though some think I took "the easy way out" I still went through those ups and downs...stalls and gains...depending on what I was doing or what my body had become accustummed to. And, the closer you get to each goal (love your goals list BTW) the harder it will get. I had to constantly re-evaluate what I was taking in and what I was putting out. More water, less refined carbs, more protein, too much protein, less sodium, too much eliptical, not enough weight training, etc. Maybe just re-evaluate what you are doing now and change it, tweak it, keep your body guessng.

I feel your pain on this one. I was in a plateau for 4 weeks and may still be but not quite sure until TOM leaves. I have researched and read and read some more and I came to the conclusion first of all that our bodies REALLY mess our minds up! LOL! I also read the same stuff everywhere. Make sure you are eating enough so that your body doesn't go into starvation mode, make sure you are drinking enough and switch up your routine. I did all this and it really didn't help. Take a good look at your food entries and make sure you are not snacking more or eating out more. That is where I noticed my problem lately so I changed that. I also started eating lots of apples. I heard that they are a good source of fiber . I wish I could offer more but I would take the advice of the others and see what happens. I mean, we can plateau forever...right??!! LOL!0
