finally found someone in my weight range...
my healthy weight is at 150 pounds...and i keep hitting this goal , but never managed to go below that, do you follow any specific diet? or tips? i would like to lose a little over 10 pounds to look good for my brothers wedding, but this plateauing kills my motivation.

Well, I'll give you some tips that I was given, but they aren't working for me, so I don't know how great they are :-) On March 3, I got fed up and went to see a nutritionst and a physical trainer (I should mention that I've been stuck for about 3 months). Since then I've been doing what they suggested, and I'm still stuck. Yes, I lost a pound, however - I had seen that number on the scale before - it just goes back up on my official weigh-in day - so I've never been able to mark it down before :-) I have actually seen a couple pounds lower than than, but it keeps going back up (which makes me nervous because of this challenge - never before have I been so okay with NOT losing weight LOL!!)

Here's what the nutritionist and trainer told me to do (after looking at what I'd been doing). They said to do shorter workouts with intervals. I used to do 60 minutes at a time - either elliptical or treadmill or workout videos - and I try to keep my intensity up pretty high the whole time. So now I've cut that to 30-45 minutes and I'm trying to do some intensity bursts in there instead of sticking at a steady level. I had already added strength training, so I've continued with that. They said to change up my routine every 4-6 weeks so my body doesn't get efficient at what I'm doing. I was told to eat 1500 calories no matter how much I burn (I use a bodybugg to track my burn). I had recently started to eat more calories on workout days to keep my deficit lower so I didn't burn off the lean stuff. Plus, everyone says how you should eat back your excercise calories, so I thought I'd try it. But some days that mean I was eating close to 2000 calories! So I've gone back to a straight goal of 1500 calories in, and trying to burn as much as possible. I was already working out 4-6 days a week - and I'm still doing that. My goal is no less than 5 days and most of the time that's what I do. I was also told to get at least 100 g of protein and 25 g of fiber every day. Then, no more than 2300 g of sodium but 1500-1600 was optimal. I haven't done much work on the sodium yet. I'm eating decent things, but I'm usually right around 2300-2500 of sodium, and I haven't figured out what to eat instead. So I've left that on the back burner for now and am just trying to be more aware and not chose high-sodium snacks. PS - I track my food on the bodybugg site, so you won't see anything in my diary here.

So anyway - that's what I'm trying to do to bust through. I'm getting really really frustrated. My oldest graduations in May, and I had planned to be at my goal by then (130), and being stuck is not helping!! It's hard to stay motivated to work so hard when the fat isn't budging, but I'm trying! I'm not giving up (yet) - this WILL work - I just have to be patient (that's what I tell myself anyway - anything to keep trying, right?)!

Feel free to friend me if you want.

    ditto!!

This week will be hard for me I think. I've maintained for a month or so. Having a loss I just hope it stays like that and I don't go back up. Guess we'll see.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

That's my worry too LOL!!! The last couple of weeks, I've been down mid-week, but for no good reason, it goes up again by Monday (so I really only maintained). I'm worried that it will be down on a Monday and then won't stay down for the next Monday!! I wish it would just go down and stay there (and go lower), but at least the Mondays are evening out!

I guess all we can do is try...I know my loss was from moving. Now, I have to make smart choices.

BTW - thanks for the tips you put out there above. It really is tough to get past the "plateaus". I really don't know what caused my losses at all. I will be the same for a long time then all of a sudden will lose 5 pounds, then back to the maintaining. I am getting ready to ramp up some workouts, but I'm also scared that it will throw havoc to my body and make me gain (or retain water). I know its something I have to do though - and want to do really.

Do we have a word for tomorrow yet? Tomorrow will not be my normal Monday schedule and I wanted to set it on the scale tonight so I didn't forget to take a pic in the morning. Just worried that I missed it - and bumping this so I look for it in the morning :-)
